would love it if we could list more of those obscure references...companies that used to sponsor the ground, even local companies that did it once but had to pull out. i might give some a call if they are still open and ask why they don't sign up again!

Some of the more obscure ones may be mentioned in the Club's Annual Reports. Do you have access to the ARs? (All the major sponsors would be mentioned, I'm sure.)

I've sometimes paid money and ended up bored, but never have I received a promise that I would be bored before paying over the ca$h. What a strange marketing concept!

Last years one offs were Sirena, Divella, Lavazza, WCIS, ?? not sure about others...
Gee as for ground signage...I do remember the MMM on top of the press box that got hurriedly painted out one day.

I recall a hoarding on the "Carlton Heroes Stand" that said:

"John Elliott Stand".

Yeah, i'll leave IMB out of the article, no doubt.

Can anyone confirm for me the 2 Valmorbida companies who sponsored us last year?

There were 2 brands from the Valmorbida stable that sponsored us:

- Lavazza Coffee
- Sirena Tuna

hyundai were our major sponsors for 1995 were they not?

If my memory serves me correctly I think hyundai managed to sponsor the premiers in both major codes in Australia that year.

1995 Carlton (Premiers AFL)
1995 Canterbury Bulldogs (Premiers ARL) - just before Super League got going.

100% accurate all of the above, was going to post the same info but SPF has beaten me to it.
