Pratt may lose his award and Carlton presidency

Quote:
Chris Judd may be appointed Carlton captain before playing a game for his new club, but if he is to be confirmed as leader it is likely to be in February, not today when the Blues reveal his jumper number and a new multi-million corporate sponsorship with car maker Hyundai.

CHRIS Judd's evolution as a Carlton player will continue today when it is announced he will wear the No. 5 jumper.

Judd has been using the No. 5 locker at Princes Park.

The Blues will also announce a new sponsorship.

The club will have a new sponsor's logo on its shorts next year, featuring Visy, owned by club president Dick Pratt.

Swann described it as one of the better sponsorship deals in the AFL.

"It's as good as anything I've ever seen, for shorts, anyway," Swann said.

This Captaincy thing is a little bit annoying.

I mean surely the club know whether they want Judd to lead or not. I don't buy into this 'players vote for the Captain' thing. That's fraught with danger. What do they say about letting the lunatics run the asylum?

But then, maybe having the players vote for Judd is a way of validating it in Nick's mind that he isn't the preferred choice to lead Carlton. But won't many of the players have a loyalty to Stevens?

Ratten has repeated on numerous occasion that the captaincy will be decided around February. I don’t see any reason for him and the club to deviate from this.

Must be number and/or sponsorship

City driving is a killer for fuel efficiency.
What they quote for litres/100km is achievable if you do 70% freeway

Anyone who drives a Falcon or Commodore in the city knows that getting 15L/100km of mostly city driving is bloody good.

The "supposed" fuel consumption is about 10.9L/100km. On the highway, yeah, 8's and 9's. But in the city, 15's and 16's are normal.

Don't believe for a minute the claims of the manufacturers. They're an indication but a lot depends on driving habits.

I range between 15 and 17, driving the m2 carpark every morning, in a 5.7ltr V8 with a heavy right foot.

On a road trip I drift between 10 and 12.

“We would be delighted if the on field success enjoyed in Hyundai’s first year as Carlton’s major sponsor was repeated in 2008,” Greg Swann said with optimism at the announcement.

Just pipped me SnickerS. :-D

In addition to joint major sponsorship that will see the Hyundai logo on the Carlton guernsey (front for home games and back for away games), Hyundai will be the official coach sponsor of the Carlton Football Club as well as Carlton’s official car sponsor, providing excellent exposure for the Hyundai brand.

GO BLUES!!!
