C: simpson stevens walker
HF: gibbs fisher russell

Anderson Thornton Jamison
Houlihan O'hAilpin Scotland
Walker Carrazzo Simpson
Gibbs Waite Fisher
Cloke Fevola Murphy
Ackland Judd Stevens
Kruezer Hadley Russell Betts

Disclaimer: Changes made after "trade period". Hopefully 1 more change after PSD.

ps. would hope Jackson, Grigg, Hampson/Aisake, Hartlett, Blackwell, & Bower push extremely hard.

My view is that I don't think O'Hailpin is good enough to start on the ground. He will need to improve drastically to hold a spot once guys like Hampson, Jamieson, Hartlett, Austin improve.

I am unsure whether we could win a flag with him.

Walker Jamieson Thornton
Scotland Waite Bower
Murphy Carrazzo Simpson
Fisher Whitnall Gibbs
Betts Fevola Houlihan

Hampson Judd Stevens

Cloke Grigg Jackson Anderson

Emg: Bentick, Kruezer, Blackwell, O'Hailpin, Ackland

Russell has a long way to go - play him in the 2's until he is consistently dominating.

I think Grigg could suprise us next year - worth a punt for rising star!

After doing this you can see how much we are going to improve. I found that quite hard so for once their will be pressure to get a game

Assuming:

Kennedy traded
Judd, Kreuzer, Stevens new recruits
We don't get Giarsiruncusa from WB
Jamison isn't groomed as FB over preseason nor elevated from rookie list
Betts repeats last preseason performance before Libba saved his arse
Whitnall and Ackland are both available
Aisake and Jackson elevated from rookie list
Hampson bulks up over preseason
Anderson improves kicking
Russell, Grigg, Bower take next step

B Scotland Setanta Jamison
HB Thornton Waite Walker
C Murphy Judd Simpson
HF Houlihan Hartlett Fisher
F Kreuzer Fevola Gibbs

FOLL Aisake Carrazzo Stevens

INT Hampson Jackson Bentick Anderson

EMERG Bower Russell Grigg Betts

Rotate: Murphy, Judd, Stevens, Carrazzo, Simpson with Bentick, Gibbs, Jackson, Anderson, Scotland, Walker, Houlihan.

My bet is that Jamison will be our FB by year's end and Setanta CHB with Waite at CHF.

Bower may overtake Thornton. Kreuzer may play CHF, if Hartlett doesn't make it (injury or form) then Thornton may play forward in a FP. Cloke takes the FP if injuries to 2 or more big men.

IMO:

Saddo, Lance, Blackers, Ackland are peripheral.
Edwards, Benjamin, Cloke fighting for their position on the list beyond 2008.
Bannister & Wiggins may survive beyond 2008 (but doubt it) unless above retained in 2007.

Austin, Jacobs to continue apprenticeship in Bullants.

I realise I made the chicken crack earlier but here goes anyway:

Assuming we trade Kennedy and pick 3 and 20 for Judd.
Assuming we pick up Kruezer.
Assming we promote Jackson and Jamison.

B Bower, Thornton, Jamison
HB Scotland, Setanta, Houlihan
C Walker, Carrazzo, Simpson
HF Murphy, Waite, Gibbs
F Fisher, Fevola, Betts
R Cloke, Judd, Stevens
Int Jackson, Aisake, Anderson, Hampson
Emg: Kruezer, Bentick, Grigg

A lot of teams here with Kreuzer out of the starting 18. I don't think he'll play first ruck, but I'd be very surprised if he doesn't start most games on the field at senior level. I'd suggest probably as a tall forward, replacing Kennedy in the short term.

Recent history (and the depth of our list) suggest our elite draft choices will play a lot of senior footy, and play it early.

I felt Ackland improved or showed improvement under Ratts and his still our only recognised ruckman. I'll back Ratts & Ackland in for now.

As for Whitnall, again like the rest of you, I am bitterely disappointed with his 2007 season but I feel Ratts might be able to get something more out of him yet, especially with Kennedy moving on, so I put my faith with him still.

Remove Whitnall and Cloke for A.O'hAilpin and Kreuzer and this one's closest to mine
(except Russell's a goer in my team)

He'll never be a truly great player until he masters CHF.

After trade week it's more likely to look like this...

B: Dud Dud Dud
HB: Dud Dud Dud
C: Dud Dud Dud
HF: Dud Dud Dud
F: Dud Dud Dud
Foll: Dud Judd Dud
I/C: Dud Dud Dud Dud
EMG: (from) Dud Dud Dud Dud Dud Dud Dud

B. Walker Thornton Jamison
HB. Scotland Waite Bower
C. Simpson Carrazzo Gibbs
HF. Stevens S.O'Hailpin Houlihan
F. Betts Fevola Fisher
FOLL. _______ ________ Murphy
INT. Jackson +3

Only 17 players currently on our list good enough to play AFL. That's assuming Kennedy is traded. And there is a space for Judd on the ball and Kruezer on the bench.

Very interesting Jarz

No sign of Aisake, Anderson or Bower is interesting. Cloke ahead of Aisake (I understand)

Whitnall; it looks like you're trying to hide him in a FP ( but then he might shine in 08) I think the game has gone past him and we need speed. I think we're better off having Houla, Gibbs or Betts crumbing there.

It looks like you're trying to fit Walker in the team, and squeezed our B&F in a HFF. Is that because you're trying to fit Gibbs in with Judd, Stevens, Simpson, and Murphy?
Because it sounds good?
Because you rate Gibbs more in the middle than the Walker and Carrazzo?
Because none of your chosen midfield would be better in the backline?

The backline does look good (if Scotto and Houla play it tighter, but still generate run from there. It looks very fast, even without Bower and Jamison.

i just think that walker has been playinga lot in the backline and been doing a good job of it and there wasnt really anyone else to put there except for bower and jamison but walker is amuch better player than both of them

and gibbs well he is a #1 draft pick from playing in the midfield and next year will be his second season so i think he will start to settle down in our quite good looking midfield now
