I can't believe how many people didn't know that Brown supported Carlton. Made his decision to snub us and choose the Tigers to "play finals footy" all the more laughable. Hey, we might not be any closer than them, although I think we are, but at least we've won a couple of pre-season Mickey Mouse Cups.

I'm a bit embarrassed to ask, but did we make a play for Brown when he decided to leave the Doggies? I have no idea we were interested. What did we offer for him?

Before the mod's go and move this post, it still has something to do with Carlton and Anthony Koutoufides - be prepared for a tyraid!!

Matthew Lloyd - what an absolute flower!!! The fact that this pathetic Essendon* moron cannot even acknowledge the career of Anthony is beyond amazement - the bloke is a dead set clown!!!

Nathan Brown: mentioned that he followed Carlton when he was younger (I found this surprising!) and I think he congratulated Anthony on a great career and wished him all the best.

Shannon Grant: Immediately off the bat congratulated Anthony on a great career and asked who were some of the best players that he had played with over his time at Carlton. Seems like a nice guy off the field and really respected other players.

Matthew 'I am Scum' Lloyd: Proceeded to ask Anthony about the rigours and toughness of AFL Football in the modern era and whether players would be able to play as many games in this day and age - for flower's sake - you can ask ANYONE that. How about acknowledging that he ripped you a new @rsehole in the 99 Prelim? flowering tool!!

Even when he did the read out of the teams, he focused more on the opposition that "power" forwards have kicked a bag against us - yeah sink the boot in you pathetic, free kick staging flower. Surely he could not be partial and acknowlege Jamison who is playing his first game?

Seriously, I hope that I never run into Matthew Lloyd in the street, if I did... I would show him one finger and see if he understood sign language! Let's hope that next time we play YOU and your scum-sucking excuse for an AFL side that we teach you a lesson - RESPECT MF'er!!!

Setanta may end up lining up on you and I'm sure you will be hearing footsteps when that first pass comes down to you - on the wing... because you won't be getting many kicks in the forward 50! Sorry to those of you that had to endure my rather angry moment. This adds more fuel to the fire that is my utter HATRED FOR Essendon*.

Matthew Lloyd - I hope to christ that you never get to pass the total amount of goals scored which is that of Tony Lockett (1,306?). You do not deserve to get anywhere near that feat and even if you did I doubt you would acknowledge Plugger, much like in the same way you don't even acknowledge Anthony Koutoufides.

Regards, Shaun (Sticks1977)

Browny was a massive Carlton fan, nearly as much as i am. We went down to Carlton vs Collingwood one day at Waverly on the Collingwood supporters bus, i think it was the day that Kouta did the one handed pickup on the wing. I was surprised Browny went to Richmond knowing how much he loved the Blues as a kid, bloody Wayne Campbell.

If you're right tommi, some of the bands I have seen on TFS must have been using some digital delay effects or the like.

I saw The Androids playing "Live" on TFS in Perth a couple of weeks back and being a drummer I could tell how out of synch it was.

Maybe they used Matthew Lloyd's brain passage to achieve the delay effects.

Goddard, Wells, Deledio (and I think even Cooney) all Carlton fans.

Kouta barracked for Collingwood.

Go figure.

Lloyd was appointed Captain under the "Lance Whitnall/Years of Service" rule.

Lloyd's performance last night was just more proof that his pea sized brain is matched by his pea sized heart.

After watching the last qtr of the 99 Prelim, I can seriously understand why he said nothing.

Watch again and see how the flower thinks that his two goals in the last were going to give them the win.

He was a tosser then and will die a tosser.

Nice one Shaun. I couldn't agree more. Sometimes I think of feeling sorry for him. The obvious depth of leadership at his club lead to his following hird (who is overrated IMO) who wasn't a bad captain at all. He has no personality and is obviously one of those guys who only knows what he is told to do and say. eg - on the footy show talk about FOOTBALL, when getting dressed ALWAYS TUCK YOUR SHIRT INTO YOUR UNDERWEAR, always have a clean hanky with you cos you never know where you'll end up. After the sheedy panto sketch the look on his face was the same as a 5 yo who's lost and is asked 'where's your daddy?' Well - daddy was talking to another lady and I think they're gonna be going home together, and daddy's never coming home...
Please don't take this personally as this happened to me too.

I think Lloyd is one of those guys who has been promoted one level above their level of competence. 'Matthew, kick the ball through the BIG white things, ok?" is what he's use to hearing, not 'so what do you think (about anyone/thing other than himself)'

Pity him - if only his Dad had played ten more games he could have been saved!

His father, John, only played 29 games for Carlton. Also, Lloydy actually barracked for Fitzroy as a kid even though his dad played for the Blues.

Would like to point out that Kouta and Lloydy have said before that they're pretty good mates off-field and Matty did once joke that "Kouta was still in our (Essendon*'s) nightmares" following 1999.

I did think it was a bit of an odd question from Lloydy but I think you guys are overreacting.

There's no doubt we're definitely over-reacting. But why get in the way of a good thing with logic and sense?

Always relish the chance to bag the Dons or the Wobbles. 8)

When Essendon* signed Lloyd one of the papers had a photo of Lloyd in his bedroom with a lot of Carlton players photos and clippings on the wall and raving on how a strong Carlton supporter he was.

Either it was a setup by the Newspaper for something to write about or he was lying when he said he was a Fitzroy supporter as a kid.

Either it was a setup by the Newspaper for something to write about or he was lying when he said he was a Fitzroy supporter as a kid.

He's said it countless times on TV. His older brothers barracked for the Blues because of their dad . Matty went for Fitzroy because Bernie Quinlan kicked 9 goals the first match he ever went to as a youngster which made him want to become a FF.

When I have time and can dig through the scrap book some more and provide more quotes:

"I grew up watching Alastair [Lynch] as a Fitzroy supporter and he was one of my favourite players back then." (from one of his Insider columns)

"He was an avid Fitzroy/Bears supporter until Essendon* drafted him in 1995 as a 17-year-old from Avondale Heights.
``It's funny, Alastair was one of my idols as a Fitzroy supporter growing up. But I've never actually met him,'' Lloyd said....Lloyd's love of the Lions began when a junior coach took an impressionable youngster to a Fitzroy game at the Junction Oval in the early '80s.
He remembers watching Bernie Quinlan kick a bag and was hooked on the maroon, gold and blue until Kevin Sheedy and Windy Hill forever altered that allegiance on the first training night." (a Herald Sun article from 2001 about a duel b/w Lynch and Lloyd)

"``My oldest brother Simon barracked for Carlton, but is now the Hawthorn runner,'' he said. ``Matthew barracked for Fitzroy.'' " (an interview in the HS with Matty's brother, Brad, following Lloydy kicking 100 goals)"
