I'd prefer to see us play as most other teams do. That is to win. Whether we do or not remains to be seen. And wherever that leaves us at the end of the year we pick the best talent available to us. I'd gladly swap a few duds on our list for some picks taken in the 3rd and 4th rounds of last years draft. So lets not kid ourselves that a PP is going to set us up for the next 10 years.

Recruit and trade smart and get your current list in the habit of winning football matches. When I last checked that was what this game was all about.

Sad thing is even if we do try and beat them they're gonna be pissed off from there 94 pt thrashing last week and are gonna want to take it out on someone and we're gonna be that team

As for giving Kouta a send off win you gotta think about what he would want more -

A meaningless win because he isnt even playing

Or Finals hopes within the next 3 years if our pick is good..

Umm...

do we really think we are going to beat a team that is inside the top 8 without Stevens, Walker, Kouta, a ruckman, and Kennedy? (add Lance to the list if you are aLance fan, and add Wiggins to the list if you are a Wiggins fan)

I'll barrack for the lads with all my heart, but you believe in fairys at the bottom of the garden if you reckon we can win.

All the more reason to smack their arses!! They don't belong in the 8 and I'd love to be the team that sends them out. Have you people forgotten what it is to hate and beat collingwood?

Every week I turn on the TV, radio or go to the game wanting to win desperately. If we get smashed I'm shattered, if we come close I'm pleased for the improvement but if we win I'm wrapped.

5 more losses gives us the priority - that's a silver lining, not the plan.

dont get me wrong, i wont cry if we get Kreuzer, but i also wont cry if we win a couple more games.

ive seen carlton beat collingwood and Essendon* too many times when we have no right to be winning.

its like a vicious circle.

carlton is flying - we will lose to collingwood or Essendon*

collingwood or Essendon* is flying - they will lost to carlton

ive seen it too many times, last time i one $150.00 knowing the way it works.

this week im going for more, collingwood, Essendon* and melbourne multibet

3 more wins for the blues :)

What's better? Long term success over short term success. Every time.
We have an opportunity that the afl can't take away this time.
Bring on pick 1 and 3... and we'll be Kruzing!

What do you base that on? Which one of our 10 wins do you think we didn't deserve?

How far we go in the 2007 finals campaign is anyone's guess, but right now, after 17 rounds, we do in fact belong in the 8.

You seem to have misunderstood what the duke meant. He meant your place in the 8 is wasted as it always ends the same... :-D . But I have no problem with it. Provides some September laughs.

So we've already given up on Hampson, Jacobs, Aisake?

I've only seen this Kruezer play once and I didn't exactly soil myself with excitement. He may be better, but the last ruckman to go #1 with this much hype turned out to be Josh Fraser.

I will be barracking for a win against the Filth mainly because I don't think we will be able to manufacture a loss against Melbourne in the last round.

That being the case, we may as well beat the Scum and the Filth along the way.

Cool. So if it's all the same to you, I'll just wait for The Duke's reply. He's never appeared to be a poster who needs others answering for him.

Thanks

You could be right. Unless a few more of our guys go down before Rd 22 we may risk getting cited for match fixing if we even entertain throwing that one. Look miracles do happen maybe Melbourne can turn their form around... 8)

I'm fatalistic - if we get the PP we really need it, if we don't get it we don't need it. Scientific, hey.

For the "PP is the difference to the long term survival of the CFC" people, I feel sorry for you that our list, that should have easily got 5 plus wins took so bloody long to do it. This underperforming, poorly coached list has teased us all - we share your pain. Blame Pagan for keeping you in suspense.

I'm resigned to beating Dees in last round, so at least I'm sleeping at night. They may as well go for broke and create some misery for the Pies and Dons as well.

Alas, if FATE decrees that we get no PP, we'll just have to settle for pick 3 (maybe pick 4, not too sure), and get someone like that Judd bloke........

I mean we can all go to bed warm and fuzzy at night from the memories of this game.

Set us up for the next 10 years that game did.

Yeah - we could have had pick 8 instead of pick 9 if we lost that game!

Actually it wouldn't have made any difference - win, lose or draw we still would have had pick 9.

Wrong. Had Collingwood beat us and Adelaise won we'd have ended 13th with pick 7. Collingwood won, PA win = pick 8. The way the results came through ended us with pick 9.

I'd rather the team busted their arse to win and miss the PP than to set out with the PP as the final goal. If we bust our arse and lose, then well and good.
