Guys please resist the need to know things before they happen. Just rejoice in the fact that it is all happenning. Time now to put the past behind us. Time to get right behind Ratts over the next 6 rounds and enjoy seeing our up and coming young brigade get given free reign to back themselves and be confident in their roles and for the club they play for. Ratts is focusing on spirit...getting the spirit and enthusiasm back and this is where it all starts. Confidence in each other and in the plan is what we have been missing for so long. No more.

Rest assured the club (i.e. Pratt, Swann and Icke) have identified the deficiences in our make-up and are rectifying each area one at a time. Leadership off-field and on-field has been our main problems. The off-field part via Pratt and Co has been addressed. Of-field... what's left is the Coaching department. This is now in full swing. On field leadership comprises two areas. One is instilling ready made leaders (end of season recruitment) and the second is full on fast tracking development of our youngsters to become the leaders of tomorrow.

It's all in motion. We've been patient till now. We all now must believe that the right plan for the club is now in place and is being implemented to the best interests of the Carlton Football Club. Our role as supporters now...is simply that, to support that implementation process and to one day ...not far away...to reap the rewards.

Sleep peacefully fellow blue bloods...All is well in our navy blue world... :-D

flower hell. One thing that pisses me off about football supporters the world over is their need or desire to either start or listen to baseless, unfounded rumours that either the "medja" or "sources close to the club" build up and start.

Fair dinkum. The point being that NO-ONE flower KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT IT FOR CERTAIN.

How about just waiting to see how it pans out. IF you can have any miniscule impact (a la voting Smorgon out) then great. Well done. You've done what you can.

But to continually spread rumour/gossip/innuendo/scuttlebutt - believe it, or continue to discuss and give any substance to some of the crap that people come up with is just beguilling and completely delusional.

Not having a go at anyone in particular. Just sick of the rumour mill that is gonna go on and on and on for months now. It is a virus that is endemic to footy supporters all over the world.

Shit, no wonder I don't post much!

Still good luck with your pointless discussions!!!

Carltons turnaround will take place faster than most will believe is possible.

The work of Pratt and Swann will be a big part of this.

Sure you are right Dom and lets face it, most of us on here would go down with the ship regardless, but it's still hard to cop the basket case we've become. I've been buying the 'hang on a little bit longer and it will all turn around' for 5 years now.

I look forward to some exciting announcements, but there wouldnt want to be too many more false dawns!! Good luck to the negotiatoirs working behind the scenes

I'd love to provide you with names believe me but he has sworn me to be discrete which I reluctantly agreed to be.

Be very sure that there are major changes happening at the club almost now on a daily basis. The club is going after the absolute best personnel on all levels. This includes Coach and assistants, admin, development, recruiting, and yes players. No stone is being left unturned and nobody is considered to be unapproachable.

Big name players are being targeted as we speak...yes the Judds and the Pavlich's of the world etc etc. And also the best on the coaching level. Despite the obvious candidates feel very reassured that we will have the best coach and staff next year (within the realms of the possible) bar none. Essendon* scampering today with the Sheedy issue is no co-incidence. Other clubs know that we are on the move...in a big way

The days of complacency at Carlton are well and truly over. A new dawn has begun. Like others I had my days of doubt however following this honest and open conversation, I am now convinced that Pratt, Swanny and Icke have the bull by the horns and are going hell for leather. These are going to be very exciting times at Carlton starting from now and beyond... :-D

No disrespect - but where's the rumour? all i hear is blah blah blah...i kinda expect this stuff on the saints pages. where's the rest of the story...where the aliens come in.

name some names
P.S. Do not expect the obvious...

I'm inclined to agree and take all this with a grain of salt. A CEO cousin who happens to know everything but "please don't tell anyone"? Please

Yes but this is the 21st century where their is a draft, you can't do much and the draft pick depends on where you are,Carlton could target 10 players to come but in realistic only one could as our number 1 pick as Richmond and Melbourne could do the same with theirs, but we need like 4 great players and probably another 2 or 3 good players to replace Fevola.

The club best chance is to not win a game get two round 1 picks and target one of the best with pick 3 and whatever pick or player and use number 1 on the best Ruckmen i believe will be the best ever since drafts began unless they believe Jacobs or Asaike can do the job asnd we use number 1 for a star and keep number 3,i still have doubts on Sean Hampson as a Ruckmen.

Well... Regardless of whether any of this is true, its a good reassuring post. I find it hard to believe that with Swan, Icke and Pratt the club would not be having a huge flowering makeover. I hope a lot of this comes true, but think regardless with these 3 most of it will. I'm pretty sure the whole recruiting and developing side of the club has had massive improvement for the next season. I liked Pagan, but he flowerin had to go. The old administration didnt have the balls, the new one will not settle for Fitzroy/Richmond like mediocrity.

I have heard the same as Dominator and what i heard is we are going to get Leigh Matthews as coach next year.

PLEASE NOTE: I heard the above from a bloke who told me a day before Mitchell was going to be ' bought back in from the cold ' so to speak. So this bloke obviously knows someone

Guys some of you on this thread have misconstrued what I have said. I have passed on what I was told in a very honest conversation. The meaning of what was said is not that we will necessarily get a Judd or Pavlich or whoever but that Carlton is hell bent on doing everything possible and more to get the best to this football club.

No longer will it be tolerated to pick up Hacks Like Ackland, Maclaren etc...No longer will it be tolerated to draft the best young talent and leave them to languish one or two years without a senior game. Simply put only the best will do from here on in...on ALL levels.

The days of rash no brainer decision making are over. Now that alone should provide peace of mind to a lot of people on here.

Chyna, the fact that you jumped into the thread that had the word rumour would indicate that you might actually think like the rest of us! :-D

Don't begrudge others wanting to discuss things that you may find baseless.

gee that bloke must be in the inner sanctum of the club---to know that Mitchell would be coming back in from the cold, when he is (a) the reserves coach(b) great mates with Ratten and (c) it was only Pagan that had a problem with him, is amazing...The man's a friggin genius.

What else has he got????

Not based on any Rumour just logic. I reckon Voss will be Carlton reserves Coach next year. Our admin is too smart to give an untried coach the senior gig of a young list.

with all the vacancies that exist, I would be surprised if he doesn't end up with a senior gig somewhere if he wants it
