The only person that we should consider trading is Fev. The others are either too young or have no currency. I would much rather invest further time into a Russell than a Hunt who we don't know.

Have we not learnt that picking up other clubs' has-beens just does not work? Ackland, McLaren, Teague, Saddington, Harford, Clarke, Johnston, Bannister, McGrath, Mott, Chambers, Longmuir... These were all picked up by Pagan. No wonder we had to get rid of him. Give me a Murphy, Walker, Simpson, Fisher, Gibbs, Kennedy any day. They are our future.

Danny I had similar thoughts.

If Ratts wins a game and we lose the 'precious' is he just furthering his own carreer at the expense of the good of the club?

If he loses every game, then is he a dud and should be sacked?

The more I think about it, the more it sounds like a no-win situation.

Either way someone on here is gonna hate him and want his head.

hunt isn't soft; that's just your unlearned opinion....

fix the backline, put ampol of run, skill and hardness in the backline.

leave josh hunt back pocket.. i dont care how we get him, but we need him in the back six.

Obviously Mark Thompson is guilty of having an unlearned opinion as well...your superstar Hunt is in the ressies because he aint good enough or hard enough when it counts. If I wanted someone out of the Geelong defense it would be Egan....

Pick 20, Whitnall and Fisher for Griffen.....I dont think so...

I reckon you might be having us on Winnie and just stirring the pot a liitle...

I don't want boys in nappies whom are just good enough for the Magoos playing in seniors.

alrite?

Yes, of course. Its all about you.

Fortunately those in charge of the club have the foresight to make the right decisions.
The playing list needs to be built, not thrown together to satisfy impatient supporters who dont grasp the idea of rebuilding.
You have your hasbeens and I'll be satisfied with Kruezer. We'll see who's in front in 3 years.

Did you listen to what the guy actually said..

Imagine if we stay along this road for another 2 years, some supporters will be so despondent and fed up that they will lose all passion they once for AFL football..

Read very carefully what winfield was saying...

Are you saying a 23-24 yo with 9-10 years worth of footy, someone like a Pavlich or Judd wouldnt be worth pursuing??

Dont be surprised if Pratt recruits a Judd or Pavlich, we keep our top draft picks and things start improving sooner rather than later..

We know that the guys are capable, if still inexperienced and we saw that against Port and the bulldogs, with a good new coach and a swing of very positive changes bound to happen over pre-season on and off the field, we will bounce quicker than a lot will expect..

We have cut the head of the snake in Pagan, a new coach, development staff, a big fish, and don't be surprised possibly a high profile GUN coach could come on board courtesy of the working ways of Mr.Pratt..

Enthusiasm, positivity and a real hunger for success and winning mentality, we could very well be a CONSISTENTLY competitive unit next year and then we should expect finals by 2009!

I'm guessing Richard Pratt and the likes would accept nothing less! It's this mentality and strength of Carlton of the past which kept us on top and leaders of the pack!

Hunt is a fantastic kick, but not much of a defender (stopper) and he can't play the running rebound role due to his lack of athleticsm.

Prismall is a player to target - young, promising and only missing out on a game because of Joel Selwood. The kid wants opportuntity and the club knows he surplus to their needs at the moment - there's your grounds for trade. You target a bloke like Rooke - who they value and is getting a game - and you have to offer him a heap to spark his interest and reward Geelong for what they've lost, and your left with a dour defender who you paid too much for.

Carlton needs to learn from its trades. They've been very active in recent times and Heath Scotland is the only one we can claim as a success. It's a simple formula : quality player that the club wants to retain but can't fit into their team due to a surpluss of type and the player knows he's got what it takes, but wants an opportunity. You'd think trading late picks for players who were about to be delisted should tell you what sort of quality you're getting

Naah .. Lance will retire while he's still got an ounce of dignity

You MUST rebuild properly...

Draft.....

Dude are you scared if Ratten keeps the job he might influence the board to keep Whitnall and one of Kouta or Lappin,i can't see him saying to them it's over that's why i prefer Mckenna or Voss or even Bond who didn't play with them in the same club.
