Pro's - There are no pro's to be taken out of a month of 10+ goal ass reamings!!!! No PP will make us better than we currently are, so tanking is just a BS term used by losers to justify the crap footy we are playing!!
The way I see it is that we are the titanic heading for the iceberg and the sooner we throw the capatin (Pagan) overboard the quicker we can start turning this ship around hopefully before we hit the iceberg and sink.

I don't care if we lose our PP, because if we could get a couple of wins under a new coach and get our guys to belive in each other and start having some fun again THAT is what will get us up and going again.

Cons - No amount of Viagra will get this team standing up and playing hard again.

How could Collingwood winning be a pro?

Bower OK
Kennedy good
Fev just needs to straighten up and we'll look a lot better
Bentick and Blackwell coexisted nicely (WHY can't they be in the same side???)
Only 6 weeks to go.

117 points.
More of the same.
Still 6 weeks to go.

Pros
Gibbs - Showed glimses of the champion he will be when he was playing through the midfield.
Kennedy - Best game I've seen him play so far.
Bower - Did a few good things

I've not seen a second of today's game - out all day - but posts like this are enough for me.

Hope amongst hopelessness.

Thanks for the return of a slight smile to my face danii. Gibbs/Kennedy & Bower can make it all worthwhile, couldn't give a fat rat's about the result.

I was at the match today...

PROS
Wonderful sunny day.
Cold Beer.
Gibbs on the ball. Seemed to enjoy the opportunity.
Kennedy ran and tackled all day.

CONS
Game plan: Playing wide, really wide. And slow.
Passion: Little in play, zero off the ball
Communication: Very quite team
Inniative: Little shown, few risks
Kicking for goal: Our midfielders have trouble kicking over 45 metres, let alone accurately.
Kicking to targets: Sometimes embarrasing - delivery to forwards is eratic.
X factor: There is no Carlton player that intimidates or confuses the opposition
Playing Walker injured: His arm was just hanging off his shoulder
Players out of position: Waite will never be a backman, Kennedy never a ruckman, Pagan never a coach.
Disinterest: Scotland can be very lazy. There are others.
Time to move on: Houlihan is soft, Ackland looks out of his depth, Wiggins lacks zip, Waite lacks concentration, Kouta and Lappin have trouble making the contest.
Confidence: almost zero. No risks, no suprises.
Strength: Too many in our midfield are small and lack sufficient strength: carrazzo, simpson, blackwell, bentick
Speed: few players can worry the opposition. Certainly nothing explosive.
One percenters: almost non-existent

The players slowly left the arena as individuals - exhausted, confused and demoralised

teams are pushed wide ... they generally don't do it on purpose. If the player delivering the ball, carrying the ball and leading to the ball are under the pump then you go wide. When you turnover the ball the opposition then go for the corridor and boy do we cop it in the corridor. We have players like Kouta and Bentick who cannot make a running tackle.

I want you all to have a look at something next time we play ... the opposition win the centre clearance ... the players that won that clearance then work up the ground to receive from a team mate and then have a shot at goal ... next time you see this happen run your eyes back to the centre of the ground ... bet you $10 bucks Kouta is still standing in the centre of the ground.

Don't blame Waite for Jonathan Brown's performance ... have a look at the delivery ... have a look at the lack of pressure on the bloke kicking the ball to Brown.

We don't respect our losing margin ... BIG PROBLEM.

can you guys humour my stupid question for a tick? Are we really really really good at tanking without making it look too obvious.... or are we really this bad????

the scary thing for me is that i used to freakin spew blood everytime we lost a game (let alone get pumped)! those close to me knew not to come near me after a loss and my wife likens the drive home after a loss like a trip to the morgue!

the killer now is my indifference - i really hope we dont become like how stkilda/bulldogs supporters used to be when these ferals would rock up to a game expecting a loss , hoping and praying they would get a chance of procreation with their partners on the odd chance they won....

im really scared

walker is a turn over merchant..in the true sense of the word.. kinda frustrating but you have many honeymooners here that are blinded by his love so we can not say too much. great competitor and player but turns it over far too much week in week out...

We get thumped by a squillion points and Tex gets singled out for missing a couple of targets ...... super CON!!

We're expecting teenagers to travel interstate 3 out of 4 weeks, play "home games" on the shifting Telstra Dome surface, and still bring home the bacon!! Its a shit draw we have and its made a hell of allot tougher when you have a side made up of KIDS!!

I'm still bleeding internally and I've got to prepare myself for another sleepless night, so my PRO's will be posted midweek when I feel a little better.

It's gonna be a LONG 6 weeks folks!!

One team playing for a spot in the 8 vs a team that is no man's land.

PRO

Bentick: I thought he was my best player for the day in the navy blue. He's not a bad kick. @#$%&! he's tough!

Kennedy: he looked like he enjoys the physical combat in the ruck, and really put in today...tries hard...will make it...at CHF.

Bower: did OK, but seems hesitant. Different to the kid in round 22 last year. Needs an injection of belief and confidence. Tried hard. He needs a personal development coach.

Houlihan: looked classy and is smart. I don't expect him to go to ground and in every pack when the rest of the gang are there. Classiest player on our list atm.

Simmo: he tried hard, and did some inspirational stuff. Too skinny for Lions midfielders. He's a wingman or HF imo.

Carrots: first half pretty good, but was playing a lone hand at times. Had no where to go...lost confidence in the 2nd half.

Blackwell: yeak lacks penetration with the kicking, but got the ball a fair bit, and always looks for a team mate. Needs to take the game on a bit more.

Walker: ran hard all day, and good link man. He tries hard, and is playing injured. Rest him!...and work on his kicking.

Russell: I though he looked sharp with limited opportunity. Good pace and tidy frame on him now...showed good signs. Will be good.

Fisher: tried hard. Ran ran and ran...but some of his team mates didn't see him or executed the disposal to him poorly.

Murphy: showed some toe and good skill, and never gives in.

Gibbs: looked good in the centre> All class...and only 18 yo.

Setanta: never stopped trying, he was coached out of the game by Pagan. What a wasteof a good resource by Pagan.

There's always next year (without Pagan) and another preseason for the kids to grow/ develop.

I get to see the Blueboys 6 more times this year.

We are getting close to Kruezner and an elite midfielder.

Stevens and Cloke return next year.

CONS

Pagan has no game plan, and players are obviously confused.

Kicking is very poor

Players don't run the lines hard to create opportunity forward of play...went sideways too much

Players have no confidence in each other. Do they talk?

Ackland is poor and pitiful, and should have rucked far longer than he did

Scotland was very lazy at times...lost interest and didn't chase.

Thornton was disinterested. What's happened to him?

Poor Waite had no chance of stopping the great ball delivery to Brown...midfield clearances killed him.

Bannister, Wiggins and Lappin look finished to me...and please spare me Wiggo supporters...I lloked for the guts determination and one percenters...he's out of his league...get fair dinkum. Yeah sure, keep him on the list in 2008 as an inspiration on the training track, but he aint got it!
I only get to see the Blueboys 6 more times this year.

Disgaracful effort really.

Oh My God.

Indeed!
That is frightening and I had no idea it was so bad.
The home record isn't a whole lot better either.
