Is it something bubbling away eating at the team, is it something not that noticeable almost in the background, or is it simply something in the coaches box?
You can't keep losing games week in and week out for years and expect players to play with confidence. They start out the game after a bit of a rev up and play like winners, but as soon as things start to go bad, the confidence gets shot and things capitulate very quickly.
There are only 3-4 players who have played in teams that expect to win rather than hope to, and they are shadows of what they were and I believe that they have forgotten what is was like.
This is where the attitude that PP will impove the team in the long term conflicts with the benifits of having the metal belief that you go out to win every game and feed on the confidence that come with feeling like winners.
The cycle of mental toughness goes with winning = confidence = arrogance = hunger = intensity = winning. Once you lose one part of the equation then the rest follows. The only way forward is to win games and accept nothing less, this is where the PP muddy the vision of the direction that the club should be heading
