2pm Carlton v Melbourne

not too bad - they werent doing this earlier in the year

there is a massive carlton following over here which would have seen places burnt down if the game wasnt shown though

Why is this news?

We are constantly being shafted by the FTA channels. . . all trying to get us to buy cable which I, for one, won't be doing anyway ... what was it that Springsteen said about a whole lot of channels and nothing on?

but that kinda my point, it would mke no difference if you had fox in this case - if you were an interstater you have to put up with a 10 odd hour delay.

it makes no sense in my mind than seven would pay so much for the rights only to televise a foxtel relay.

I can remember widespread rejoicing when nine lost the rights on this site, while a vocal minority forewarned of how shit things were gunna be once seven got involved again.

Seven are pricks, no doubt about it, however this current deal if you have Fox has been superb. From a Carlton point of view this weekend not so, but overall for the season it has been incredible. Live Friday night games. Both games on Saturday arvo (either on Fox or Ten). Fox and Ten showing Saturday night games*. Fox showing the 1pm and 5pm Sunday game. That's seven out of eight games live every week.

Unfortunately this weekend we are the one out of eight that isn't live.

*In Qld, if Brisbane is the Fox game, the other game isn't shown as Ten cover Brisbane no matter what.

Don't forget Saturday afternoon on the ABC is the Bullants. At least you should get a chance to see Austin, Benjamin, Blackwell, Edwards, Flint, Jacobs, Jamieson and Jackson in action.

The sooner Channels 7/10/Fox figure out what is in the PUBLIC'S, not THEIR best interest, they will realise that the PUBLIC should be THEIR first interest - high ratings thanks to better coverage. It's NOT THAT DIFFICULT!


I can sympathise with the interstaters - coverage of the AFL is through Setanta Sports here in the U.S. and a couple of weeks ago I noted they had earmarked the Carlton v Melbourne game tomorrow night as their Saturday night (Sunday arvo Oz time) game.

As it was only the second time this year they have shown a Carlton game so, as you can imagine, I was pretty excited!

Sure enough, I log onto their website a couple of days ago and, lo and behold, they're showing Sydney v Fremantle followed by a delayed telecast of Port Adelaide and Hawthorn.

Not happy Jan!

Oh well, in three months I'll be back to civilisation......... :-D

Its not just us. The Hawks game tonight in QLD, is not on - they have Brisbane v West Coast on Fox and on FTA. The Hawks game is not on until tomorrow 10:30am in QLD!

And I thought 8pm tomorrow was bad.
