I think all available funding and resources should be chanelled into setting up gaming facilities in growth catchment areas in outer melbourne ie:- Mornington or Melton. I know Collingwood have set up such a facility called "The Club" at Caroline Springs that has been quite a success in only a short period of time. My sources suggest that the facility will contribute significantly to their bottom line. We really need to think outside the square.

I live there and the large car park outside that venue is always quite full.

It is quite a good venue, I only ate their once (before I knew the money was going to the filth).

Never again.

I'm very interested to hear more about the rumour Bruce Mathieson is going to leave us a parting gift now Smorgan is gone. He is involved in 250 odd hotels now. Perhaps in partnership with him we can somehow have something similar to the filth. Would help contribute enormously.

Might as well Dannyboy, it's meaningless now and the club or league is not what it used to be anyhow. How about we relocate PP to the GoldCoast, I hear that area is thriving and with all the TV they will receive surely will be able to get a 35-40K+ membership to match the Adelaide's of this world out there. :P

Danny has a fair point....Parkville.??...is it a hub of activity with enough passing traffic to justify these proposed developments.
It would be sensible to look at other growth areas and do some studies before committing the club to these venture...someone like a Bruce Mathieson and his team who has made his money out of the hotel/pokies game maybe should be consulted and get some practical ideas on if he sees the Parkville area as a future money earner..

Back in the old days Henry Ford and his board were presented with a proposal which was a sure fired winner and Henry asked if anyone could find fault with the proposal and all his board agreed it should go ahead.....Henry being a wise old man said on that basis they would review it in one month and see if anyone could come up with anything against it....at that next meeting the proposal was rejected....

"should we leave P.P?"

NFW!!!

Princes Park is the clubs spiritual home and should remain as the clubs training and administration base. The stage 1 development looks great.

Surely there's enough young & modern thinking marketing/business types on the board now to initiate some other healthy revenue raising ventures outside of the suburb of Carlton :?:

I believe the likes of Collingwood Hawthorn etc. sold their souls when they moved away from their spiritual homes.

DON"T DO IT BLUES!!!!

Surely there are other ways of making money than more poker machines exploiting people on the urban fringe. No doubt C'wood's Caroline Springs facility is making a great contribution to the social fabric of the area.

I agree with Gerry.

Have we considered prostitution?
