Let's put it simply. We're frikkin shite at the moment and until that changes you can forget about positives.

The only positives anyone wants to see is 4 points. That didn't happen to a shizenhousen team in Collingwood.

It's going to be a long 2 weeks and after that, travelling back from the west for a Friday nighter against Hawthorn - that won't be a given now either.

I hate football sometimes

Pagan's cliche du jour is "footy is 80% played between the ears".

On that effort, I would suggest most of our guys actually have very little going on between the ears at the moment.

One positive is that hopefully the umpires won't be blocking Fev !

Fev should have ran a bit harder and barrelled that bastard ! Cost us a goal at a critical stage.

Carazzo continued to show good signs.

Can't kick, slow by foot, hand and brain.

French keeps playing well and is continuing to be a good contributor to our team's performance.

DeLuca played one of his best games for the club, and with such a focus on Lance and Fev he proves the theory we need another tall option in our F50.

Lappin continues to play good football week in week out.

Correct.

Karl was beaten today, but he still showed that with Thornton and Livo in the team his running and kicking from defence will be valuable for us.

No right foot and made unforgiveable mistakes.
camelboy wrote:
Eddie Betts should be the role model for all our players. In the first quarter he was not only our best forward option, but also our hardest worker in attack. His tenacity and failure to give up a contest is absolutely amazing for a bloke in just his third game of football. Reports from the TV suggested he may have a hamstring niggle.

Should have Betts and Davey but we have Carrazzo.

Jarrad Waite continues to show the good things he can add to our team. His height, pace and skills will be great for us in years to come.

Still lacks polish with his skills, decision making and was dragged today for them.

There's still 19 regular season games left.

Thornton, Livingston, Chambers and Fisher are all in our best 22 and will be good for us when they get back in the team.

In Simpson, Chambers,Walker and Longmuir.Maybe even Russell if he plays well in the twos.
Out
Johnson(Luke Blackwell thanks),Wiggins,Sporn :?: and Davies

The positives were Archie, Betts, Waite's four quarters and Stevens(did he get a rest?).

One of us can't read Jack's Boy...I thought this thread was titled 'R3: Positive's'. You're welcome to start a thread about the negatives and go for your life. Although many people have beaten you to it...there are plenty of negative threads for you to contribute too.

I think it was the first time ever that I thought "Gee, he would have been alright at the Pies."

Tough little nut, isn't he? I know Holland doesn't have many fans on this site, but he's a pretty hard player. When Stevens took that bump and then just bounced straight back up it was awesome.

Steven was such a solid worker yesterday, it's just a shame he didn't get much help.

my positives were

* stevo's four quarter game
* barney has improved out of site and played another good game.
* archie in the forward line looked really good
* once again scoring over 100 points

apart from that i can't think of any other winners maybe apart from teague who really was on his own down back yday.

speaking of that you could see collingwood tried to take him out of the game.
bout 20 seconds later caracella came in and gave him a swinging forearm to the chops.

Dude, if we wanted to take him out, do you really think we'd use Blake to do it? :?

Fair call, Mandy. Blake's about as scary as a whoopee cushion...and about as tough.

J.Waite's game, despite his kicking for goal at times.

Norman learned that he ain't quite good enough yet. Thrown back to the 2's when the big boys come back should see a better effort out there.

Houlihan - 21 possies and killed his forward, beautiful stuff.

Stevens good, but beaten by Licuria; Lappin good - great laughs against Shaw.

That's about it for me. We're all focussing on DeLuca but the boy was very lucky to get one of those goals. If he'd have kicked 1.1 from 100 mins on the field you wouldn't say he's done well. We're sloppy going for goal, lazy at getting back on the fast break and gave up 100 points again to the opposition.

Can't wait for Livo and TB to get back, we really need them.

Stevens was magnificent and we certainly missed Kout's drive in the 2nd half with Chad Morrison doing the job there.

Jarrad Waite kicked 3 goals and looked very dangerous. Although his disposal is ordinary at times he certainly has talent.

French and Lappin good as usual.

And come back please Thornton, he is basically our MVP as the rest of the defence cannot step up when he doesn;t take the best opposition forward each week. If there is one bloke we cannot afford to lose - it is Thornton.

Also, flower Justin Davies. I totally agree with Synbad. His effort in the 3rd quarter dropping a two handed mark was pathetic - and it probably went along way towards costing us the game. The guy just has to apply himself for every minute he is on the field. There is no doubt he has the talent but is so inconsistent from minute to minute.

NO POSITIVES. NOT ONE.
I think it's time we started to demand our players play AFL football for 4 quarters per game every game and stop all this bullshit talk of positives after a loss.

I am filthy with our guys. We should have been 3-0 and NOT 1-2.

Filthy.

If you can't see ANY positives out of the match, then I'd hate to be with you at a party....."the beer's to warm", "that outdoor lighting is a serious OH&S issue", "that girl should cover herself up, what would her parents think"

 :garthp:

Not interested in anything else but final results.
I'd be more like this pal.....If I where at a party and a girl was under dressed I'd be asking her to come outside for a smoke  , if she wasn't interested (which is most of the time  ), I would let some-one else try and get the end result. Get the drift, no more bullshit positive talk from Surrey, unless we are finally winning the games we should be. Our players are better than that and if the majority want to put in substandard performances week in week out, then time for someone else to finish the ride.

I'd like to see a lot more desperation and accountability in a lot of the players. Many of them are on their second and last chance at AFL level and others need to make a mark but sometimes they look like bored journeymen content with a bit of March glory.

Exactly. Coasting along and waiting for someone else to do the dirty work. That's what it looks like and feels like. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
