i said before that lance/murph should be co-captains but now i think the club should have balls and force kouta to captain next year with murphy, im not sure if this is true but it is quite possible the club told kouta to step down from the captaincy because he was doing such a bad job early in the year and that was when he announced he wouldnt captain on, my point being that kouta might still want to captain the club but was told not to. just a thought.
What makes Murphy captain material? I know he is a great player and all, but he seems pretty shy and doesn't seem to say that much on the field as say, a Stevens does.
My opinion-
Captain- Whitnall
Vice-Captains- Stevens, Fevola, Lappin
IMO he has all the makings of a captain, he doesnt set a foot wrong off the field, is courageous, is very committed, always does the team things (great example was when he tried to 'take a player with him' after getting injured against the lions), is very smart, knows more about football than 3/4 of our team. obviously, he's going to be too shy to be giving instructions to senior players in his first year but the captaincy is probably the thing he needs to have the confidence to do that. that's just my opinion anyway and that was one of the reasons i suggested a co-captain rather than him on his own.
