Has been a good pickup French, albeit an ordinary 75% of this year was the call sign for his retirement.

All the best Barny, you've given it your all.

He hinted earlier in the year that this would most likely be his last season. Good time to go as the injuries were starting to take their toll.

Looks like Denis will almost certainly go after Gardiner now.

Congratulations go to Barnaby for a fairly good career. Just an honest bloke who played to his limits. Will be missed.

I'm sure a lot of the sheep will be sad that the player we got in the "deal of the century" is gone.

Pathetic.

Gardiner ... if the club recruit him my family wont be members anymore...

French was a good team man who did his best with what abilities he had...
time to recruit a young ruckman and stick with him....

Always gave 110%. Congrats on a great career. I' proud to say I was there for his farewell game.

Can he hang around to help Demps with ruck coaching?

Congrats Barnaby

Great player for us and I'm very sad to see him go. Thought he might have gone another season. We'll miss him terribly.

All the best

And sacrifice what character and respect remains at our club?

No thanks.

I'd rather endure another year of Dylan McLaren.

At least his knees are still working.

Good on you Barney for knowing when it was time to go. You'll be sitting back drinking pina colladas next year while Kouta is dragging his sorry arse around the park embarrasing himself and the club.

agreed stuff Gardiner if his Knees are shot and i still think Maclaren having No #1 rucking duties may show more than we saw this year.

He was No #1 ruck for 2 games this year and wasnt to bad ... averaged 20+ HO and in one of the games 10 Tackles ..... when he was second string we didnt see much of him but he was used very sparingly.

with Maclaren No #1 for 2007 and maybe elevating Aisake for back up could be a okay combo ... but Maclaren is more mobile and to be fair only had 2 games in 2006 where he was given Number 1 Role and wasnt any worse than Barnaby ... was better in being a mobile Ruckman and like Barny is a good clubman

Well done, big fella. Thanks for the good years of service.

By the way, he & Jane are moving back home to Adelaide to start a family, so no chance of he staying on at the club in an off field capacity.

I'm with you, PJ.

Isn't Aisake being groomed for rucking?

Yep.

And as my sig suggests, he will develop in to the ruckman we have been looking for.

Sad to see you go, Barney.

It was a shame that it was such a shocker for your last match.

Yep looks like McLaren for next year - don't forget people he has rucked almost a whole year when Brisbane's ruck division were down it wont be new to him.

Is there any decent rucks after Luenberger (he will be gone by 17) in this years draft?
