Can we all note that this is the positives thread, not the negatives thread. Make a new thread if you want to bag players.

For my positives:

Thornton keeps getting better.
The young kids are very hopeful.

Young Mr Walker was absolutely Brilliant today.
Heath Scotland continues on with his great season.
Young Luke is showing us tid bits of our future. Can't help but love the little bloke.
Simmo ..... great call making part of the leadership group ..... never stops running and trying to create options.
JR finally got "that goal" out of the way.
Fev .... some of those defensive efforts were simply brilliant.

All that happened whilst those moronic ref's earnt themselves nothing but contempt !!!! (The Arseholes!!)

Thornton was outstanding on Pavlich. Simpson has played consistently well for about 3 months now which is great to see. Walker's drive out of the backline was fantastic and great to see last week was just an anomaly due to illness. Blackers continues to put his head over it.

Also, thought French had one of his better games for the year today.

fev extending his lead on the coleman

simmo's continued improvement and probably best game for carlton

scotland keeps racking 'em up

thornton held pav to only 2 goals and effectively ended any chance he had of winning the coleman

bentick was able to get back into the game and rpoduced a fantastic final quarter

walker sensational on 50th seems to be a milestone player :-D career-high 27 disposals

and probably the biggest positive was that there were no injuries to come out of this match

Fev, Fev and Fev.

65 goals. I think that equals his best ever season tally.....and 5 games to go. Should do 80+ and get All Australian.

66 was his best in 2004, if he kicks 4 goals in every game for the rest of the year he ends up with 86. a super return from a player playing in the team with the least inside 50's this year.

And if he played again Dawson the gun he would be on target for 100.

it was a pity he got suspended last time, esp. when all he did was bump a player with his eyes on the ball.

I actually thought Fisher and Waite looked promising today. Both took some strong marks and led well. Fisher just needs to get out of Fev's space.

Walker and Thornton both looked great, Walker running the lines and carrying the ball. Thornton holding Pavlich and being able to get a stack of the ball himself. Really looks back to his best form.

Backline.

Our backline had the ball come down so often and the likes of Walker and T-bird were great. Walker had one of his best ever games and T-Bird would have held Pavlich to nothing if not for some turn-overs.

Fev kicking 5 goals when not having the best game is a plus, Eddie Betts's chasing again.

Younger midfielders getting a heap of the ball.

One slightly left-of-centre positive I'm trying to hold on to through the end of Season 2006 is that we're performing without the 'benefits' of our wooden spoon in 2005. The guys that ran out for us today was pretty much a team that we ran out with last year, without the benefits of 4 (hopefully) very good to excellent players in Murph, Kennedy, Bower and Edwards.

So as we roll on & on through the punches the 'better day' we all live by & hope for should surely be getting closer. Surely?

Don't forget Dylan McLaren.
