Great Post BB!!!

The best part about this years draft is we have a great recruiter who will be valuable in the 3rd & 4th rds for the players who have slipped through...

Josh Kennedy certainly played his best game for the club on sunday. 8)

Hey Guys,
Who is up for trying to make up a youth team based on the players from this thread? Firstly pick out your best squad of 25 and then put them into position.

I suggest you leave out these old fogies and the other retreads, but if you got a special crush on some of them whack em in by all means:
Kouta, Bananaby, Lappin, McLaren, Prendergast, Livingston, Saddington, Teague, Sporn, Longmuir, Chambers, Davies, Smith, Batson

It will be interesting to see your combinations of the below young players. First gamers on the list are in green. Fantasy draftees are in gold.

Midfielders:
Murphy, Walker, Simpson, Bentick, Blackwell, Carrazzo, Jackson, Connors, Harbrow.

Defenders:
Thornton, Hartlett, S. O’hAilpin, Russell, Bower, Flint, Edwards, Hansen.

Rucks:
Meeson, Renouf, A. O’hAilpin.

Forwards:
Fevola, Kennedy, Waite, Fisher, Betts, Raso.

Others:
Scotland, Whitnall, Stevens, Houlihan, A. Deluca, Bryan, Wiggins, McGrath, Bannister

Have fun!

As my sig asks, "Surely it gets better"

People keep telling me it will .. yet I watch games like 08Jul06 v GFC, etc, and wonder

But posts like this make me yearn for the yesteryears of tomorrow...

Bring on #17!!

All will probably happen, but not at once. When a few of them start happening at the same time is when we will improve as a team. We have had great individual performaces from players but as a team not much at all.

Very positive post BB.
Even more positive than Parrot on BigFooty!

I agree with most of what you've stated, however don't share your optimism regarding our ruck stocks. Regardless, in 2008 I think we will be a finals contender again.

Pleeeeeeaaassee don't compare me to Parrot. I am naturally positive. It is in my nature and upbringing. I also spend a great deal of time with research and study of my favourite subject: Aussie Rules and particularly the Blues. You will note that most of my posts are backed up by facts or at least consensus' of opinion of those more knowledgeable than I. Our old mate Parrot is plenty passionate as well, but even the most one-eyed Blues supporters blush with some of his posts.

PS: I have edited this post to reflect the signing up of Fabian Deluca by Port, reportedly earlier in the season. John Meeson from the Crows is now my man. BB

I have seen a lot of Meeson this year as he plays for my SANFL club Norwood.

Very good tap ruckman and can cover some ground.

A little weak in the air but getting better each week.

Meeson has ben in the BP's more regularly as the year progresses.

I have heard that the Crows dont want to let him go. Although they are having trouble resigning all of their players due to many of the younger kids like Meeson not getting enough opportunities.

Would be a real asset and is young enough to grow with all of our other kids.

I would definently prefer Meeson over Fab Deluca.

Infact, Meeson shat on Deluca when Norwood played Sturt (Deluca's SANFL club)
