Both Kade and Karl will have to produce close to thier best form from now on, week in week out to cements spots in the team.

The pressure is going to be on most of the team, which has to be a good thing. When did we last have players pressing to come into the team such as Livo, Walker, CC, Johnno, & Bannister?

Simmo, Karl and Wiggins have so much to play for. If they do well, they're in the side against a weakened Collingwood in front of a big crowd. Go blueboys

I know John Barnes is not necessarily the sharpest too in the shed, but on Fox League Teams tonight he was adamant that Bannister would come into the side to tag Hird. Do we place any merit in his comment?

In the words of Forrest Gump's girlfriend..."Run Kade ..Run"

Kade for speed, Karl for height in defense, Wiggo for speed and hardness.
I can see it! Bannister is stiff, and I doubt Barnes was right. Sporny will get Herd...Lucas and Rioli will be our biggest problems...then again...if our mifdfield keep getting it ..won't matter.
Go Frenchy...a biggie for your 100th

No Allan, Silvagni, Bradley, No Vance.

We have beaten full strength Scum teams with worse teams on the park - no worries.

Yep, I'll second that

Interesting that Luke Darcy on TFS was a big wrap for Barney. He complimented his form, and said that he loves the new centre circle. He thought that the jumping ruckmen were still having difficulties with it. I wonder whether he would classify himself as a jumping ruckman?

So we finally have a match in which Barney (with assistance from Archie, Prenda and Lance) should dominate a first gamer who is just short of 20 years old. Barney has 7 kg on him, is 10 years older than him and has played 99 more games. Lucas might be able to help out, but if he goes into the ruck there will be audible cheering from the Carlton Coaches' Box.

It's been said, but the Bumbers losing Allan will hurt them a bit.

Nice to see the Bombers haven't been able to exploit our lack of height at the selection table...we may even have it over them in height and speed.

You mean Roly Poly Rioli?
The same bloke Sheedy has been saying he will explode onto the scene year after year?
The guy is a hack.
While I'm not underestimating, he won't be of major concern on Friday night.

I thought that Kade was stiff to be dropped for last week's game on the back of some solid Wizard Cup form. Good to see him in there.

I think this is the only expolosion Rioli is in line for.

How he escapes the scorn poured on Whitnall astounds me!

I think that Karl can cement a place if he plays a reasonably well. A lot of sides are using very tall forward lines going by round 1 (including WC, Roos, Pies, Port, Syd, Rich and Ess) He will be needed as a third tall even when our backline is back to full strength. I just hope he can step up tonight.

Go Karl!!

Carrazzo on Cupido? I suppose.

Cupido always has the ability to snag 2/3/4 after doing nothing for 3.99 quarters and like Rioli is one the players our markers have got to wear like drink stains after a big night out.

get the carlton chief to knock up a fine turtle broth and that shall see the end of Rissoli.

a very talented footballer, but parallels with lance in his work ethic are astonishing. Well, that was before this year for lance :D

i will be the one to say it.

his an aboriginal

if he was anything but an aboriginal he would cope it, and that is purely becuase of todays politically correct climate.

which is crap

he is fat, shit and wasting his potential - the fact that he is a aboriginal is irrelevant

CB,

I missed Fox Teams last night but as soon as I heard Bannister was out I thought something was up. I'll probably be proven wrong but I'm expecting Jordy to play tonight. It's not immediately apparent to me who is going to drop out of the side though...

SIMMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr and Mrs Simpson, your son is a champ!

On Walker: perhaps he is carrying a light strain still... maybe they'll test him in the 2s to keep him fit, but he couldn't sustain a full match in the firsts.

And, McGrath usually plays on Hird

HellO? Hello? (using best John Howard voice)

Sporn has taken Hird and beaten him when available. No reason to expect anything different here.

I rate Bannister highly and get a bit fed up with seeing him made the fall guy everytime we lose. We give him the tough jobs and then dump him...hope he plays cos he deserves to. I think he is more versatile than Mcgrath/Wiggins.

Re: Cartledge..reminds me of another newbie ruckman called Mark Porter who started his career v the bombers and was BOG....while I expect French to dominate I wouldnt be selling the bomber kid short and giving him no respect.

Lucas and Hird are dangerous players and as much as I dislike Hird he doesnt play too many bad games in a row and I think we need a fall back plan for him other than juts Trent Sporn..
I would expect Lucas to kick 3-4 on either Morell, Norman or Prenda its what we restrict the other Bomber forwards to that matters...
If we are any good we should win and win well...Essendon* have plenty of talent out and are light on the big man dept....very surprisied that Stanton was dropped..our midfield should dominate although its a shame Chambers isnt playing as he adds something to out team with his pace and goalkicking and we are missing him...maybe Kade Simpson can fill Chambers role...

you'd think sporn would have the job on hird, however, there has been word around the campfire that sporny is carrying a slight knee injury sustained in the wizzer G/F. this would explain his poor form last week. he may be nearing 100% fitness, but may not be able to run with hird for the entire match.

wouldn't mind cory going with hird. he has a lot more pace than hird so might be able to hurt the bombers going the other way. he would make hird more accoutnable than sporny would. i think this is the key to playing on james hird. not only do you need to shut him down, but you need to make him accountable. too many times hird as allowed to run around without any accountability to his direct opponent because all his opponent is interested in is stopping hird from getting it. i feel that it is something that could be exploited, and cory could well be the man to do it. this would particulalry get up the nose of Essendon* supporters as well

i'm looking for a big effort from barney. this is Essendon*'s major achilles heal. their ruckstocks are (i can't believe this) a mile behind ours. just need to make sure that he gets his taps to our advantage (somewhere in the general vacinity of kouta would do nicely). i have no doubt that the likes of johnson, solomon, and hird will be trying to rove to barneys taps, so he must be aware of where they are.

our mids should get the job done against theirs. and with quick clean supply i'm hoping that fev and whitnall can get on top of fletcher and bradley. the fletcher V fev atch-up will be fascinating. hopefully the coaching staff have come up with some decent strategies to get fev away from fletcher's gadget arms. Fletcher has ahd the wood on fev, so it would be great to see fev get a bag against him. what i do hope is that our mids realise taht if fletcher gets on top of fev, that there are other avenues to goal. we need the likes of deluca and davies to stand up. we need a player to help fev out this week. if he is going to get on top of fletcher, he will need other players to give him some assistance providing blocks etc so fev can just get that couple of yards break on him on the lead.

the bombers have got definite issues with goal kicking ability. Lucas is their obvious threat, and without T-bird and Livo, Diggers and Norman will have to be on their game.i think Norman will get the job on Lucas. Karl has the ability and seems to play his best football when he is assigned a definitive task. i have faith. the CFC has kept the faith. it time for Karl to show that the faith was deserved.

a week ago i would have thought we'd belt the bombers tonight, however after last week's debacle, the confidence has been a bit lessened. still think we should win, but it may be a little closer than first thought. don't care what the margin, but it is vitally important that the blues chalk up win #1 for 2005. if we are seriously going to be around the cusp of the 8, it's games like these ones taht we simply cannot drop. no excuses this week boys. go get 'em. GO BLUES!!!
