So do we think we will be able to use this 2nd pick, or will someone bid on Ben and we have to use it?

All up we have basically swapped two first rd picks, Owies and kennedy for one of the best kids in the country.

Wouldn't surprise me if we move pick 38 forward or back before or at the draft.

Personally know bam shattered he is gone but he will get more opportunities in the midfield with them
Voss and bam had a pretty heated exit meeting Voss demanded an apology from bam for the way he sat on the bench after being sub out in Brisbane but bam stuck it to him and didn’t apologise and so he shouldn’t
While Voss is our coach we won’t be winning no premiership lacks to much and is clearly lacking game plan sense and simply doesn’t trust the youngsters

19 of those were for GWS.

My concern is unless we have a miracle ride with injuries I can't see where the improvement is going to come from next year.
We have unloaded a fair bit of experience albeit most spent their weekends in rehabilitation.

They are obviously looking 2 to 3 years down the track.

It's very rare these days for a team to end up in the final 4 with out adding 2 to 3 established players to their list

We will need the perfect season to contest at the pointy end next year and perfect seasons at Carlton are a rarity

Yes should have kept him.

Wants more mid time....in a team with Bont, Liberatore, Treloar, Richards and Sanders going into the midfield.

Replaces Macrae who played 19 games. And to a lesser extent, Daniel and Smith. They can't run with cubs like the Tigers who will get smashed next year.

Dogs might know a good clubman and player might aid them off the field compared to Smith.

1) If Cerra gets over his hamstring problems he will effectively be a new recruit. According to an ITK on Bigfooty he has come back from Qatar feeling confident that his hamstring issues are behind him.
2) Natural improvement in the Hollands brothers and Cowan
3) Moir providing a much needed spark up forward
4) Pick #3 will hopefully improve our midfield
5) Out 'top 6' of Cripps, Walsh, Weitering, TDK, Curnow and McKay is pretty damn good. At the business end of this season 3 of these players (TDK, Curnow and Walsh) were either missing or playing injured. Yes I know all teams have injuries but we were hit pretty hard.

I wanted #35 for Kennedy and we got #38. So I’m content with that return (just!).

Hopefully we give J.Carroll a one year deal now (perhaps on rookie list?).

Think we gave the list a refresh. Lord, Binns, Moir should play next year and a fair chance pick 3 in a super draft will be good to go round 1. Looks at Ben Campo's year in the SANFL I reckon he'll be good to go early. Can't be many that have won the state competition's B & F playing just 6 games and getting the full 18 votes.

Our performance will improve straight up with injured blokes fit to play. Closest we had to a full list was 7 injuries mid year until it exploded to 20 by year's end.

I think we're still contending but also with a sensible eye on the future, & the Tas draft in particular

I'm excited about pick 3

Syd if the new Fitness guru can halve the injury list, then that alone will go along way to improving us week to week.

I guess they expect more from the kids plus Cera,
Lord and Elijah Hollands. Certainly Motlop needs to leave nothing on the park this preseason. 4th year so needs to step up.

If Lewis can’t see that 22 games are his for the taking if he has a cracking preseason. He needs to do a Liam Jones and turn himself into a rock solid foil for Weiters. The job is probably his if he can stand up.

Brodie Kemp staying at Carlton after no deal was struck with St Kilda. Kemp was resolute on not wanting to move.
@traderadio

@1116sen

I call bullshit on the highlighted bit. The only reason Kemp is not a Saint right now is because SOS wouldn’t give us what we wanted.

Kemp’s manager said today that Kemp was happy at Carlton but would go to StKilda if the Blues agreed to a trade. Austin later said that we were open to a trade but StKilda’s offer fell well short of what we wanted considering Kemp is contracted and well regarded.

Dunno what SOS was offering but I’m guessing a future pick. If it had been this year’s #32, I’m tipping Kemp would be house hunting in Bayside.

Yes but are we over the injuries.
Walsh back
Acres back
Weiters corkies
TDK foot
Curnow ankle
Doc and JSOS return from ACL
Fogarty pretty serious foot
Durdin C shoulder reconstruction
Cerra Hammies
Okeefe spent 12 weeks out
Matt Carroll hasn't found the training track
Durdin S always injured
Pitto missed big chunks of games
Saad 2 Hammies
Gov goes off injured every game
Cotrell missed most of the season
Motlop stubbed his toe missed most of the year
Boyd missed back half of year

And I didn't see any thing from Lemmey and Moir that suggested they will push others out.

Lord and Binns have upside granted

It's unfair to pin your hopes on three 18 year olds give them a chance

We will need a minor miracle and the greatest medical staff on the planet to contest at pointy end

Hasn’t the door shut on moving blokes to the rookie list?

He’d have to go through the drafts.
