Yeah but he also said "let's get one thing straight, I didn't speak to their players" when he slagged Stephen Milne and that was absolute bull shit so I wouldn't take too much notice of what Mick says.

I am pleased to see some people are seeing the ... Let's say ... Inconsistencies of what tricky Micky says. Just wait till we begin playing start stop football up the wings. I hope he does not have another 16 year interval again.

Richo's not happy
Quote:
FORMER Collingwood assistant coach Alan Richardson is offended and confused by comments from Mick Malthouse that his tenure at the Pies ended badly in 2008 due to disagreements with other staff.

Richardson worked as Malthouse's chief development deputy at Collingwood for three years, but Malthouse said he left the role over a "run-in" with another assistant coach and also some fitness staff over coaching philosophies. Malthouse believed this had affected players and compromised his desire for a unified football department.

"In respect to Mick Malthouse's statements today, Alan Richardson is bemused and extremely disappointed," said Richardson's manager Gerard Sholly, of Focus Sports Management. "Alan Richardson was, in fact, offered a contract extension at the time [by Collingwood] but due to his ambition to coach a team in his own right he sought other opportunities elsewhere, which landed him at the Essendon* Football Club."

Richardson joined Essendon* at the end of 2008, before moving to Carlton, where his role as assistant coach is also believed to be ending imminently.

The Blues are yet to confirm that Richardson and assistant coaches Mark Riley and Paul Williams, all of whom are believed to have been contracted for next season, will be sacked. But that appears to be the case.

I was hoping this would be the case...

One thing we can all be sure about. Malthouse would have known/expected/suspected/hoped for a long time he'd be coaching in 2013. He will have spent a lot of time this year analysing the game in preparation, watching game plans, styles, trends, looking at players, thinking about who he'd want as assistants, speaking to people etc. He's got a healthy ego, and in his mind, a lot to prove. He'd be wanting to leave no stone unturned in his quest to successfully step back into coaching. Whoever comes on board as an assistant will have been thoroughly considered, I would have thought. So to what he wants to do in terms of game style.

We just have to trust that he knows what he's doing, and that he's still got it. No reason to think otherwise at this point. He's rambling like a madman, but he's always rambled like a madman.

Why are we/him, playing games though, if it's a done deal it should have been announced last week, the longer this takes the more stupid our club looks.

The whole thing has been handled terribly

They have to play the game. To come out last week means admitting they've been talking pre-sacking, which the whole world knows but the Club and Malthouse won't admit to etc etc.

The sooner the media and clubs come out and say, "football clubs and people and players and coaches lie all the time, they have to, accept it and get over it", the better off we'll all be.
