Shitt. Oh well, at least someone will challenge Brisbane next year.

It won't be Carlton.

Collingwood still won't beat Brisbane even with Houston.

I wouldn't be so sure of that - they said the same when they got Schulz, he turned out to be a dud so far.

Pick #35 at least. And I wouldn’t do the deal at all if there’s a chance we can get #32 from StKilda for Kemp.

But I have a bad feeling we are going to do a “good blokes” trade to help Bam Bam get to WB… :?
Don't mind if we get decent value for Kennedy but I'd prefer we hold Kemp. Still hasn't hit his ceiling

Lol. Kennedy is leaving because he can’t fit into the midfield. And we’re about to draft another mid with pick 3. No chance in hell Kemp is getting in there, any least not while Cripps and Hewett are still kicking

Please god no. Petracca is 29 going into next season. We’ll have a couple of years to contend then another 10 year rebuild

So lets discuss list balance. Where do we sit potentially after this trade period.

Hypothetical

Pick 3 - Mid
Ben Campo - Mid
Lucas - Running back

I feel we need KPP. We have similar types. The Holland boys. Bins. Lord. etc

Would have liked a tall back. And a medium plays tall forward.

i havent been all the way through the new posts yet, but i have read that we are after one of the hawks tall kpds as a rookie spot

You have more confidence in Kemp than I do.

I don’t want to give Kemp away for nothing, but if it’s #32 that the Saints are offering - I would take it. I think that’s a fair deal for a contracted Kemp.

But if SoS is just kicking tyres, we walk away. Especially if it’s true we’ve made a deal for Kennedy with WB. I’m not keen at all on trading away two handy swing men at the same time.

I really like Kennedy but he is surplus to needs.
Kemp is not at the moment. We need KPDs and he plays that role well in certain circumstances. I would trade him but only if the offer is too good to refuse - top 20.

I’m not buying the BF rumour about Petracca.

And, I was taken aback by Tommi’s post - never seen that angry side of you, Tommi. Only the hysterically funny side…

That Petracca rumour is from this person who has been trolling the whole week. He/She had a user name of Glicky (or something) and now changed to Baggers.

Everyone is ignoring him/her now as they are making outlandish statements. None of which have come through.

So this rumour is crap…….

Apparently Ben posted something on social media today hanging shit on Austin.
Terrible trading apparently and his dad is the best in the business, something along those lines.
He deleted the post.

He does? I think we found out this year that he is not a genuine KP. Not saying he isn’t useful, but I think we are one KPD short whether he stays or goes.

By the way, anyone feeling a bit flat but excited at the same time.

Excited we are getting a good mid at 3. Hoping the Campo twins will be amazing.

But at the same time sad as we are losing depth. And having added anyone to contribute next year and stressing about injuries and not being able to cover them. Especially in the KPP area.

And then sad about having to see Collingwood and the Media parading Houston around like he is Judd or something. And the fact they have improved enough to challenge again next year with Perryman, Houston and possibly Membrey. Yes in the future they are possibly in trouble but they will challenge next year now.

Colllingwood has the knack to make things happen even without draft picks. They could hyperthetically take Cox and turn him into a 1st rounder for example.

Agree, but at the moment he’s better than nothing. Ideally he and McGovern are vying for the same role and we have another genuine key defender to help Weiters

Kemp for 32 we would regret in my opinion.

Kemp does some great stuff and makes some bad mistakes.

Rather have that that someone who does not much and makes bad mistakes. We can get the mistakes out of him. I think he and Weiters gel well together.

Agreed.
Pick 3 is good news, losing Owies not such great news.
Not getting Houston also bad news.

So bits that are good, bits that are bad.
Sam Lalor looks ok, tough already, but there are a few options there I guess. Most pundits have Lalor at 6.

i'm totally into houston and what he does and what he could have done for our team

... and the pies backline was already pretty good, and their ball movement excellent from D50 to F50. So they're going to be good. my bet is they're going to be better than us.

we needed to address some big needs for our D50 to forward movement, and we've not done that. need some defensive stoppage power too. saad can't do the defensive side, cowan isn't a ball mover and newman is 33 yrs old. mcgovern is mailing it in, playing some kind of flag footy out there and weiters can't do it all.

getting a rolls royce for the middle from the draft is really nice - but it doesn't put us over the top in 2025. and with the same coaching on hand, and basically the same list - next season is going to be hectic if we can't get out of third gear or suffer another big patch where we fall off (like end of seasons '2022 or '24)

would have loved to see a bit of actual list turnover this trade period. my gut says we needed it to compete.

Have I got this right:
Owies 12 and 14 become pick 3
Then pick 3 and Cerra get us petracca

So 12,14, Owies and Cerra for Petracca.
Please tell me I am missing something (apart from some junk picks)

Or is the Petracca thing a rumour I can ignore?
