Must be.

Why else would we trade him in?

We've got Kerr, Mckay, Curnow, De Kooning, all young, tall, developing players. McGovern's a great player for sure, but help for Cripps in the middle would have been the number one priority I would have thought.

Midfielders are a dime a dozen but when you get a mobile marking gun like McGovern you must strike while the iron is hot.
We will add Walsh, Setterfield + at least another 2 mids via drafting and maybe trades then there's rookie drafts and don't forget we also have our own mids which will only get better in Fish, Kennedy, Cunners, SPS, Dow and LOB.
It's easier for a MID to have an impact straight away but talls take time and when there's a 23 year old who is ready made and will impact our BIGGEST problem in scoring then you just get it done.

RELAX coz the mids will come.......

If you think McGovern is hiding an injury, wait until you see Ben Silvagni rock in on day one of pre season.

Now he's in a rocking chair as well as all the rest of his issues?

Agree and look forward to Walsh/Settlefield additions as we still need quality kids coming through at this age bracket. These 2 should finalise this group for now but ..... this is my concern.

We bloody need some bigger bodies to support them over the next 2 years and Kerridge types just won’t do it. Really disappointed with the Shiel /Gaff misses...

We have Cripps, Kennedy and Curnow to help the likes of Fisher, Dow, O'Brien, Walsh, SPS and Setterfield.

People that are complaining about McGovern, please review come 2019 seasons end.
The kid can play, just need to relax and trust SOS and co, including Russell.
Setterfield will come in along with Walsh.
Potentially SOS is chasing other mids...

Simpson Weitering Plowman
Williamson Marchbank Docherty
Setterfield Cripps Walsh
Fisher Charlie Murphy
SPS McGovern Fasolo
Kreuzer Ed Dow

From; Kennedy McKay LOB Pickett Lang Cunningham Thomas.

Plus any other mids me may draft.
Looks better already and we are only half way through the trade period.
Maybe a DFA like Bugg...

So filthy on the Gov Deal... I am not a big Fan of him......Is he really worth pick 13???? Hell noooooooooooo

I am so disappointed to lose two picks in the 20s... that is Crazy SOS....... Gov is not going to add anything to our Woes.... Midfield is the issue!!

But Setterfield will.

What worries me about Gov are two things:

1- I am not confident that he is going to be on the Park as I have a feeling he has a Serious injury which he has not come clean about that will just flare up as soon as he start doing Serious training, thus we might not see much of him at all

2- He is an Impact Player that will take a nice mark, kick a nice goal but that's all about it. He goes unnoticed for a large chunk of games. He has not done enough for the Crows to warrant pick 13. He needs to work on his Fitness and become more involved in the Game, at least some forward pressure which we badly need.

My goodness me! How about we stick to what we know and make judgements on that.

Hence the effort to get Shiel and Setterfield.

Don't remind me.... A Pick 9 that was sent to the Recycled bin instead of being one of our current Senior Midfielders.....Just goes to show how much Top picks we have wasted and burnt before SOS took over!!

By my count we currently have 40 primary listed players.

Need to release a few more for our 2018 draftees.
