Good article.
The exact same words came out of my mouth when I read it; still, I'm hearing mixed messages, even from Trigg.

Rubbish article.
We tanked to draft top picks and failed miserably with our drafting not trading.
We embraced the draft (how many top 20 picks did we get again) but failed to nail the picks.
I will debate this until the cows come home. We did very little trading during that period, actually have done more trading during the last 2 years than the last 7.
Judd was a once off trade and journalists have built a case over it.

You have tanking on the brain (in a negative sense) and you have missed the point.
I'd hazard a guess that many of the picks we got 'wrong' were part of the 'short term fix' mentality the article was referring to. We talk about how the kids will take time (rightly) but we pick them as if we need them yesterday. They were also talking about how we approach trading, not that we have or haven't traded. Next you will be telling us that tanking has somehow magically informed our draft selections as opposed to human 'error'. When will you finally get it that tanking is a symptom and not a disease?
