It's behind a paywall, but the link allowed to view once before self destructing.....

Easy to get around for any News Corp article.

Go to google and type the heading of the article "Bolton To Win Race For Blues Job".

Click on the search result...

Not as easy as it used to be as adelaidenow, perthnow etc have also now got paywall restrictions.

Some allow you a certain amount of "free" views per month from each device. Some allow one view before not working the next etc.

Most aren't worth the trouble anyway....

Trigg and Denham are close friends

Brendon Bolton to be named new Carlton coach
THE AUSTRALIAN AUGUST 19, 2015 12:00AM
Greg Denham

Carlton will choose Brendon Bolton ahead of interim coach John Barker as the club’s new senior coach, with an announcement expected next week.

Blues chief executive Steven Trigg yesterday told The Australian a board meeting had not been scheduled to ratify the subcommittee’s recommendation. But directors have been put on standby to meet before the end of the month, when they will present a case for Hawthorn assistant Bolton as the preferred candidate.

It is understood that the Blues are holding off making their announcement out of respect for Barker, who has held the caretaker reins since the sacking of Mick Malthouse.

So in the end, the club did balls up the interview process. Book a meeting with the board, get their endorsement, then tell the media what you propose to do. Not leak it to the media without board approval first. Imagine the board do not approve Bolton as coach, would be unlikely. We will look like gooses if we don't choose Bolton now, so has forced the boards hand. Very unprofessional in Trigg leaking that without board approval. But, it is never a done deal, Essendon* board has rejected recommendations previously, but l don't think our board is in that bad.

We have our problems, but with the threat of the WADA bans, why would you go to Essendon* until you had certainty either way?!

If Essendon* interests him, then we shouldn't be interested in him.

Hopefully a broom will be taken through the assistants too. All have been there for at least a couple of years, so it's time to move on. Would think the club would look for a senior assistant for Bolton, would be great if that's what they had been talking to Don Pyke about but I doubt he'd leave West Coast.

Do you mean his manager has declined an invitation to a meeting?

So is there a chance he could be swayed to speak to Essendon*, or has he agreed to join us definitely.

Geez I would hate for us to have to settle for Barker.

Which part of Barker's presentation didn't you like?

Blueman was right all along

Come to think of it, where is Blueman

i think of blueman's posts often. i was a fan.

not sure why he stopped posting, he did used to cop a lot of ridicule so i hope it wasn't for that.

it's a shame whenever any long time poster leaves these parts.

I liked blueman too but only really in the way that I once appreciated Melrose Place.

Actually, that show was complete shit but I had a girlfriend who watched it because she was bewitched by stupidity.

But I still enjoyed the idea that any halfwit can say any stupid thing and people/eyeballs will congregate.

In retrospect I'd have to say Blueman was basically full of shit regardless of his mass appeal.

From Mick to Bolton. You could not get a bigger contrast.

Wouldn't mind having a decent senior coach/ director of coaching around either.

Potentially Neil Craig is in the mix ?

I still want to know what a director of coaching does.
