Tom Bell leaving would be far more disappointing

The sooner we appoint the new coach the better. Best way to stem the bleeding is the injection of a fresh face.

Geez, all these players leaving. It's like we've been pumping peptides into them.

Again, I have no choice but to trust in SOS to make the right decisions (however painful/brutal) to build our next premiership team. Players like Hendo/Yarran/Menzel (and possibly others) still have currency, so expect some upheaval in our locker room over the next couple of years.

While it's true that SOS had the pick of the litter at GWS, on the flipside I couldn't see him being offered that job if he didn't have a good eye for talent and list management.

Let's also not forget what happened at the Doggies this time last year, and look what they're achieving now. So it can be done.

Apologies, Don. Wasn't Herald Sun;

2015 AFL Season @theafloffseason
Brett Anderson is reporting that Tom Bell wants a fresh start to his football career at the Brisbane Lions. #AFLTrade

What gives me hope is it's clear that he did a significantly better job at GWS than the Suns managed. So if that translates I think he'll hit on a good % of the picks he has at his disposal.

Henderson is pretty vanilla and easily replaceable.
Yarran on the other hand is someone who I'd hate to see tearing it up at another club.

SOS wants to build a list from virtual scratch, and is wheeling and dealing for us to obtain multiple picks and elite young players through either drafting or trading.
Identifies players who can get us the high picks or quality trades, and goes to town.

Bell is a dunce.

Top level endurance and strength, zero football skills and intelligence.

I'd take a 1st rounder for him anyday of the week.

Bell to lions Aish to blues, easy.. Bell is a bull but skills are very average..
Cats first pick for Henderson and use it in the draft.. Maybe pick 10 or 12??
Menzel and Yarran are both contracted, they want out, we play hard ball, only first round picks....
We must finish last to get weitering, plays like Talia, CHB for the next 10 plus years.
Having picks 1, 10, 16 and 20, say, if all those players above leave, don't care if people believe it's a weak draft, we can still pick up good kids with these picks.
Add Weitering, key forward, Rice and another mid, add Aish, reckon were heading in the right direction.
As long as we don't roll over and cop it in the ginger!!!

Bell is a great rookie acquisition.

Great guy, fantastic effort, team player - will be sorry if he goes.
Contributed more than more skillful players on our team.

We won't get anywhere near a 1st rounder, and I doubt we'll get good compensation.

Curious to see what Brisbane offers him.

I'd target Leuy for Bell. We need another quality ruckman to help Kreuzer.

Bell is dispensable and easily replaced. Leuy solves a need.

We have to be careful not to cut off our noses to spite our faces with Luey.
I f the Lions manage to finish below us, and we go after the big fella, they might end up with 1 and 2.

Rice, Bradley and Silvagni as FS as well?

In:
Pick 1 - Weitering,
Pick 10 (hendo Pick), Another KPP
Pick 13 (Yarren Pick) Another Midfielder
Pick 19 (our 2nd rounder) Another Midfielder
+ Rice, Silvagni & Bradley via FS
Aish (for Bell and our 3rd rounder)

Out
Henderson
Yarren
Bell
3rd Pick

Id say that is the start of a very serious rebuild!! I'd like to keep Menzel unless its something we cant say no to.

Another injury prone ruck?
