A small specialist forward is a bit of a weird choice as sub IMO. We would have been better off with more of a generalist like Dow or Hollands who could get into the play a bit more.

Kennedys big body could be very handy in a final.

Is the tribunal tonight or normal tuesday night?

I'm leaning towards Kennedy. He can mark and has played the role before. He is also tough and would help contested ball inside 50

Possible that Motlop comes info a Cuningham or Fogarty. Bit more X factor

Another option is bring in Hollands for a wing and Docherty goes forward

Gawn will play though one would have thought. If he played with a fractured foot, geez he was good.

Or Hollands in and Cottrell to take Martin's role?

Especially if one of our guys "accidentally" trod on it

That Pittonet is just so clumsy.

Pittonet is naturally clumsy.

Same.

In hindsight, it telegraphed Jack & Charlie moving behind the ball at the end of the game - which, for mine, was/is a really good ‘save the game’ set up. Win ball, boot f*ckery, get it out the back, score or deep forward stoppage. Obviously, it wasn’t drawn up with Harry out of the game.

I think you’re spot on about the generalist. Hollands has the wheels to get out the back in that scenario… I suppose Fisher would as well… Kennedy or Dow would at least allow someone like Cottrell to be that guy.

Fair play to Jesse though. He’s come on in leaps & bounds this season.

Motlop into the 22 for Martin and Boyd or Fisher into defence. I'd play McGovern forward in place of Harry. Beautiful finisher, can leap to bring the ball to ground and would keep Lever occupied.
We'll be too tall in defence this week with Marchbank, Weitering, Kemp and McGovern. Melbourne will load up on smalls IMHO.
I'm probably inclined to bring in Boyd because we need his ball use out of defence. 4 goals from us bringing the ball out and turning it over is abysmal. We kept them in the contest.

Kemp Weitering Boyd
Newman Marchbank Saad
Acres Cripps Docherty
Fogarty McGovern Cottrell
Cuningham Charlie Owies

Pitto, Cerra Walsh

I/C Cincotta TDK Hewett Motlop (Sub- Any of Kennedy/Jack/Dow)

I'm with you BV.
JSOS struggles to hit the scoreboard at the best of times - let alone against a strong Melbourne defence after missing 8 weeks of footy. McGovern probably a better option up forward.

Like idea of Boyd in and McGovern forward given Melbourne’s likely set up

Concern over Motlop, don’t think he is physically ready

Agree on most of this except McGovern forward
He has been ordinary of late
Put a hard tag on Lever
Cottrell

Hairline fracture, will play, but likely jabbed up.
