Yep. Discussing who will take over and pumping up his staff.

"Good boards stay sound and bad boards crack under pressure and sack the coach!"

He's going out swinging.

Said he won't resign but expects to be sacked

He never received a wooden spoon .. Excellent coaching record.
Received his money..
And left the sinking ship.
Think he will block the Carlton experience out of his head.

Now the question will be how will the players respond not for him not for themselves and the club.
Should be a spike ... But not a massive one.
It will be an interesting season and off season at Carlton

I'd take 99, remove round 20 2000 from the history books and march onto 17.....

Mick proves once again it is all about him..... These 2 weeks have nothing to do with him. These two weeks are about the club planning the way forward without him

Spot on.

Anyone who thought Mick would go out without looking after his own best interests is kidding themselves.
He showed the same ego driven petulance at the Pies in 2011 and this was never going to be any different.
Full of shit as usual.

Adelaide had Eddie Betts stitched up 18 months out? Eddie was a restricted free agent. Carlton just had to match Adelaides bid and he stayed. Simple.

Mick stating he doesn't like to make excuses. This comment after he's just told us all about the injuries at the club.

Lets remember, this bloke was happy to accept the job after Brett Ratten was treated exactly the same.
One went out with dignity. The other went out as a shit bloke.
No surprise to me. It was just a matter of time before he carried on like this.

Yep. betts was lost because he was so blinkered for Thomas... What about BETTS LAIDLER ROBINSON GARLETT WAITE JACOBS All lost for zilch. He talked about the dearth of mid career players at the club because of GWS draft concessions

In summary

It is the fault of

1) Betts
2) GWS
3) Injuries
4) the board

Watch the media now, Slobbo and Stevo particularly, bemoan the club's treatment of an icon of the game.
How dare the club be so disrespectful.
Mick will be the darling of the media.
nothing good will come from this.

Oh except getting a coach better suited to the modern game.

Totally agree. Why was he on the radio anyway? Did the club know? it just smacked of typical Mick having a dummy spit when things don't go his own way.

Having said that, it may well be what we need. Let him go around and explain what a basket case we are. Eyes are squarely on the board. If at the end of this the board can be changed I'm happy to put up with this crap.

It's just a mess.

Rebuild
Coach is safe
Coaching position will be reviewed in the second half of the season
We may have to look at it sooner
We'll look at it in two weeks

The media are going to be relentless for the next two weeks speculating about our decision. Rather than it being open ended we've committed to a two week window. The pressure won't be off for two weeks, it'll be concentrated.

We're so [REDACTED] I'd almost rather be Essendon** right now.

Everything we've said we've then contradicted ourselves later.
Our reputation is going to be even more shot that it already is.

Someone speculated last week that Malthouse had a clause in his contract that said he couldn't be sacked mid-season. I suspect its more along the lines of there being additional payout if he is. Clearly we can't afford that, and that's the only reason he's still here.

This thing stunk after the West Coast game in round 2. As soon as we mentioned rebuilds then it was clear we knew we were [REDACTED] and we've spent the last 6 weeks dancing around it, creating diversions, deflecting, different story every week, looking a bunch of morons everytime we open our mouths.

Stop the fan engagement. Its a good idea, but we're an embarrassment everytime we say anything.

Tell him his contract won't be re-newed.
Let him decide if he wants to coach out the season.
Shut the @#$%&! up.
Take a look in the room of mirrors.
Hire someone with a clue about public relations and don't open our traps until they've approved anything we're going to say.

We're an absolute rabble at the moment. Its going to take a long, long time to get back and because our reputation is shot there won't be many people who want to join us, work with us, support us, have anything to do with us.

Supporters (members) are walking away.
Football people won't have a thing to do with us.
Sponsors will be next.

We're [REDACTED]!

Good leadership from the board.
New coach with a vision of the future not the past
Few top line players

Coupla years.

Cant be done?

Look at Port. They were us about four years ago. Couldn't find a coach but look at the one that found them.
They have two or three top line players. Marquee players. So have we. Gibbs, Yarran, Casboult when he kicks straight will be a cut figure.
They have leg speed now after a ruthless off season. We have the makings of a fast, fit team in Yarran, Walker for a couple of years, Touhy, The other two Irishes, BB, Bucjley, Bell has the tank, Curnow has one, Walker has one as well as speed. Plus we have some good, meat and potatoes players who go hard at it and clear the footy.

Add a few top line draft picks and all of a sudden things don't look too bad. It's between the ears. The game plan sucks and the players know it.

We need a theme song before the game so we can really be like Port.
