When Fitzroy won the 1944 flag everybody wanted to be them. The most successful side in history they were, or not far behind Collingwood anyway. Fifty two years later they were a dodo. We are just about halfway there people.

If Mick leaves you're OK but the board that put him there and everybody else is doing a ripper job?
Oh ok

I think board needs to go too. But get rid of the initial problem first, tackle that next

ook whats the initial problem???

get rid of malthouse. If the players dont come out in an absolute frenzy of intensity, then there is something wrong with the message being delivered. They are all playing for their careers now. Should be a big lift in effort this Game. If not, then you know the players have given up and not listening to coach anymore. Going thru the motions.

Maybe they plan to mix the old with the new.
How much of your salary cap can you accrue?
I'm tipping three years of rebuild followed by a frenzied FA haul where we undo any good work.

But we have a plan....it's in the CEOs letter
Actually do think it was a good move to show the supporters and media that we do have a plan in place though. At least we've got something to refer to now, to measure the progress or lack of along the way.

Whether we have the capability to execute the plan is debatable though....

Well the bombers just need to show the clip of MM telling the world that Essendon* should cop penalties badly in the media before the game. Will be mighty fired up.

Gotta agree with Synners ....... After 3 drafts (66 games) we may have a team that finishes 6th to 8th. To get there we have to finish near the bottom and not make a meal of the draft system (watch this space). Can't afford any more duds. After the 3 years and if we do finish 6th to 8th we need to be clever on how we use the next batch of draft picks. This is where we've been stuck for 'x' years and have been crap at it. Again, we can't afford any duds. We need the perfect storm and every planet in the universe aligned to form the CFC logo.

Loyalty ... there is no loyalty. To work the draft system properly loyalty goes out the window ..... you trade (hopefully a good trade) one of your better players while they still have currency. We haven't had the balls to do this properly.

You're reading from the 3 flags in 5 years playbook. We won't win one until 2022 or later, and that's if we get everything right. After their stellar draft, it took the Hawks 4 years to win their '08 flag, and even then they just pinched it. They only hit their stride in 2013.

u need to understand the gulf the great football divide between the clubs that can and the clubs that cant...
it exists about money as much as anything... but that only came because they did things right

theres a recession coming.. that money and that debt will be a problem for where were at

secondly..

as well as the clubs that have been doing alot right...
we still live in a comp whuch gets stage managed by the afl

they will be bending over backwards attempting to get the new intersrate teams flags

that gives us very little room from where we put ourselves in ...

and the culture we have on and off field

no flags...

sorry....

its just reality....

sure there are people who buy tattslotto tickets every week hoping to win the big prize.. some do... but most only do it and hope..week in week out

That seems equally realistic.

Every club in the competition, bar six of them, has won a flag in my lifetime. Of those six, three have been established in the last 20 years, two of them in the last 7.

Four of those without premierships have either made multiple consecutive top 4 finishes or grand final appearances. What in the @#$%&! are you talking about?

No I don't mate, but I can tell you you've got about a 1 in 8.5 million chance of being the sole winner of first division.

Even if we're only a half-chance compared to a top 4 side, that's still 1/36.
