Apparently horses get a lot of bone bruising.

That's no good. Any news on Jamo, a few whispers around he may have a fractured jaw.

Scans to confirm might mean it's not too bad.

Won''t affect his running so can come straight back when better.

Carlton will be without Bryce Gibbs for the rest of the season, with the vice-captain set to undergo surgery today.

Gibbs tore his left pectoral muscle late in the third quarter of Friday night’s match against Richmond.

Carlton’s Head of Football Andrew McKay says after weighing up several options it was decided surgery is the best course of action.

"If we let Bryce's injury heal naturally, he would have still been out for up to eight weeks and could have risked further damage," McKay said.

"By having the procedure now it will ensure Bryce is fully recovered and ready to go for the start of the pre-season.

"Obviously he is clearly disappointed that his season is over, but what this does do is give some of our younger players an opportunity to put their hand up for selection.”

Meanwhile Dennis Armfield will also have surgery this week after suffering a broken arm in the match.

Armfield will have a plate inserted into his right arm, which will sideline him for four weeks.

And scans have cleared vice-captain Michael Jamison of further injury after he left the ground with concussion early in Saturday’s match.

I love how these breaks only take 4 weeks these days. 6-8 weeks was always the time frame when I was growing up.
