The lack of talent is one thing, but there is no excuse for the players deciding to put in one game and not the other. Who's responsibility is that do you think? Why do we have this mindset?

It must not suit his argument.

I haven't checked however I don't think it will be pretty from our side. I think we know the result.

Mick made a good comment recently saying good coaching is when you beat a team with superior talent than yours

Which implies coaches aren't miracle workers

They need good players to have a chance

How many premiers had average lists?? None

Micks done well to get this miserable lot of players to take it up to Geel, Haw n Coll

He is right skill is what resulted in these recent near losses

which implies mick is a crap coach
we haven't beaten anyone and have been beaten by melbourne, brisbane, gws and richmond

unless you think they have a better list than ours

..better midfield?, now touch and go, for the future yes.. ..though we set a low benchmark..

:..better kpps?, not if frawley leaves.. ....garland is ok, Dawes is a work horse but not great.... ..Hogan is potential, but unproven and with a suspect back..

But you said we would could go ALL THE WAY last year after we beat the Tigers in the first final.

Remember how Vlad gave us a free shot in the finals with our pathetic 11 wins?

Remember what Mick dished up against an injured Swans the follwoing week?

Remember how we had 39 tackles in total? How McVeigh had 40+ possessions and 20 possessions in that critical 2nd quarter?

Now we can't beat the demons or the lions? Paparone an Zorko too good

Our list was in reasonable shape when Mick returned from his book tour at the end of 2012.

All Mick needed to do in the short term was improve our defense which was ranked 14th in the league. Our Midfield was ranked 3rd (above Hawthorns who won the flag in 2013 when they improved their mids by recruiting the Great Ratten). Our forwards were ranked second.

You can certainly work with that starting point cant you Mr S. Ken Hinkley who took over Port at the same time Mick took over the Blues (ie after he returned from the book tour - Ken was already at work when Mick left Wiley in charge of everything) had the second worst list in the league. He worked hard on the basics Mr S. They believe in Ken. they have faith in him Mr S

I wonder if Daisy has improved our forward line Mr S? Especially seeing as Betts wasnt good enough for the great Mick Malthouse.

You have a lot to answer for Mr S. You stand guilty as charged.

CHAMPION DATA 2012
CARLTON
Defenders 14th
Midfield/Rucks 3rd
Forwards 2nd
LIST QUALITY 9th

Cretylus... u cant be taken seriously

what u must do is complete your assignment.
Should be easy... youre good at digging up meaningless stuff... like where a list was at 3 or 4 years ago...

Now im going to teach u how to give it some perspective and context...

Raw data means bugger all..... i thought you knew that???
You must learn the concept of perspective and context.

Do you think you can do that or do you want to get into a losing mentality of unaccountability and laziness with a dash of cowardice with your arguments...

Mr S is spoon fed data and facts and looks away like Mr Reid at the EFC* during their vitamin programs

The facts are a little unpalatable a the moment for the Great Synbad.

Especially seeing as everything he predicted would happen under the Great Malthouse hasnt happened - in fact everything has gone the other way hasnt Mr S. And of course that is Rattens fault for giving Mick a superior list than Hinkley received from the Great Primus.

Meanwhile ladies and gentlemen we must all marvel at the supreme talents of Daisy, Docherty, Everitt and Wood - the untouchables. We can build a premiership team around them, like the Great Thornton who was better than Jonathan Brown.

Yes ladies and gentlemen!

Are we going to beat the saints this week Mr S? or is their coaching box and playing stock just too good for us?

there is Nothing Mick can do against the SUPREME excellence of the Saints marching out is there Mr S?

Aside from Gibbs and Murphy, what's our midfield?

Judd, Carrazzo who are near the end
Scotland who's finished

Bell, Cripps who are unproven

Lucas who stinks it up

Thomas is more a flanker

Walker and Yarran aren't midfielders. One lacks poise the other lacks a tank

Curnow who lacks polish and pace
Robbo who lacks polish

Docherty who is largely unproven

Ellard who is small and slow

McLean whose cooked

Have I missed anyone??
Simpson maybe

And people blame the coach

LOL

There's about 4 or 5 knowledgeable people at TC of which I'm one

Creytus you are devious poster and wrong to even consider comparing port Adelaide's list to Carlton's. We are worse in all departments and using stats from 2 years ago is irrelevent. You will be going on about this for the next 2 years while malthouse plays the kids. Don't forget pagan did that for ratten.

Midfield is dead. We have rookie list and taggers out there. Really poor list.

The situation is almost as bad as our spine.

This was a mediocre team 2-3 years ago. Now way past the expiration date.

It's actually really pathetic and sad they thought they could get it done with this side.

MASSIVE turnover needed

I agree with MM. Despite a few slow starts, the endevour has been there. We simply lack the polish.
The blame in my opinion lies at the feet of the recruiters.
Of course MM was going to talk up the list when he came on board.
Unfortunately he didn't know how bereft of talent and polish that list was.
He is a good coach, not a magician.
How long does he need? I don't know, but we need to have some faith.

Regards
Pedro.

but its not like malthouse has not told the board on numberous occasions.
our players are all too similar and the wrong types
he said very early last year
