Its no good getting the ball and then kicking it straight to an Essendon*** player both Bucks and menzel get this, which is more than can be said of about 8 others.

Armfield for one of the plodders who can't kick, fine, but not for a speedy courageous good user of the ball.

Interesting you say that dannyboy because I think one of the knocks on Buckley has been his inconsistent ball use. Hopefully we're seeing improvement. He'll be up and down this year, but he has a go and I hope we get 10-12 games into him. Anymore than that in 2014 probably means we're struggling.

The fact he is our first rising star nomination is years means we're struggling

The MCG website has the expected crowd of 65,000. This time there will be general admission available in the Southern, Olympic and the whole top of the Ponsford Stands. I am undecided whether to spend more money for a seat or just turn up on the night. I was really annoyed last Thursday that the top of the Ponsford stand was about 1/4 full and there was no general admission for this stand.

I was the same last week, GA membership, paid for the upgrade and sat there and looked at the 1/4 full Ponsford all night.

I'd just show up and scan in this week if I were you.

Because it's school holidays, the crowd for this might be decent, which will unfortunately be enough for the AFL to say "see, we told you Sunday night would work".

Nope the crowd won't be decent. I'm tipping the MCC will be sparely populated. Remember there are 3 big games at this venue 3 nights on end. If I were choosing 1 or 2 of these it wouldn't be Sunday night. They'll be lucky to get 55k there.

Warnock should be dropped until he learns to kick. What a disgraceful joke he is.

With Kreuzer under a cloud, I'd bring in Wood and Casboult.

Added a few more there Danny Boy. People say we have done well out of the rookie list, but these players just have poor skills which is why they are over looked initially. We have done well with the rookie draft because we have no body else.

Warnock was excellent the other night. He was getting contested ball and hitting the deck making a contest when he had no right to. Some slick handballs in close too.

We are in deep shit, if we're going to push Warnock forward and hope for a goal or two a game from him. He needs to play in the back half and do what he did against the tigers. Take a few contested marks, be an easy outlet target around the wings when we turn it over in their forward line. But he should never push forward.

Casboult or rowe should do the ruck work in our front 50. It's just like using lucas as our sub. He come on in the 4th when tired bodies are piling up around him, and he can get out and run his bruise-free brand of footy.

It's just about playing guys to their strengths. Mick loves versatility and swingmen ... which is fine. But there are a handful of players on our roster that could succeed and contribute to a winning team if they were put into positions to suit their attributes.

... conversely I might have just drunk too much coffee and now I'm talking caca.

I think Chappy, Goddard and Jobe "aod" Watson are too reliable and we are too unreliable to win this one.

..knockers took just 1 mark vs port and it was uncontested, super rare that he takes a contested mark cos he has zero upper body strength, shoulders made of glass.. ..he took no mark last week.. ..knocjers won't push fwd cos he doesn't normally, ditto with back six help,, he simply doesn't stay involved in the play once the ball leaves the stoppage..

Fair point Grrofunger.

Levi can only play forward or forward/ruck .... yet he hasn't shown any consistency with his kicking accuracy in the time he's been at the club.

There's no way we will drop Warnock,
but you'd hope that Garlett finds a bit of form this week, otherwise he might be headed to the 2's for a spell.

If only we had a half decent Ruck division to take full advantage of their Ruck situation now that Ryder isn't playing.

I was watching a replay of the Collingwood v Sydney match last night. Not impressed with Cloke at all but that Sydney forward went alright. Had 7 goals by half-time. Maybe we should try and lure him down to Melbourne. Could be our new Fev...the Wiz!
