Wayne Hughes also knows his time is up. He may have been able to 'get away with it' during the under resourced days of Den Den, or under the naivety of Ratten, but someone like MM who knows exactly what's what won't stand for him. Wouldn't be surprised if Shane Rogers also follows him out the door.

Get Stephen Wells or Kinnear Beatson (who started out - like many before him - at Carlton)

This is Mr Hughes' (and Mr Rodgers) record at the National Draft since Mr Hughes started at 2004.

2012 Menzel
Temay
Graham

(no goal to goal line/spine players)

2011 – Bootsma
Rowe
Buckley (F/S)

(one goal to goal line/spine player)

2010 National Draft
Pick 18: Matthew Watson, Calder Cannons
Pick 34: Patrick McCarthy*, Glenelg
Pick 42: Luke Mitchell*, Calder Cannons
Pick 67: Andrew McInnes*, Dandenong Stingrays
Pick 70: Nick Duigan, Norwood

2012 looks good so far from what I have seen in Menzel and Graham, I'm also ok with 2011 in Buckley and Bootsma. The problem is 2010 and we should have also had 3-4 more picks is 2011 and 2012.

Can't think of many clubs that would have 5 selections in a draft and not select one midfielder (us in 2010). Ideally we should have selected 2-3 with those 5 picks and picked up another 2-3 talls in 2011 and 2012.

Rogers started at Carlton in 1995 before heading to bulldogs for two prelims and freo and collingwood, try getting your facts straight before making a dill of yourself

The Club released through its website tonight Kernahan's statements being that:

1. "the list is in good shape"

2. "We've really got a good list"

3. "we are going to be a force at some stage"

Our President now appears to contradict Matheison's recent statements.

''There's been a lot of talk about our list. We've got a really good list,'' he said. ''We weren't good last week but we've got a lot to work with. Let's make known they are capable of far better than that and we will get things right."

''We will be challenged and we have been challenged, there's no doubt about that. But it's how we respond to these challenges that will define us as a group striving for success going forward."

From the same batch as the quotes you picked. Just thought context might be useful.

The sooner Sticks does the right thing and gets out of the Prez's role the more chance we may become a footy club rather than a boy's club

I will always look back at the Ratten years as the 'Lost Years', underachieved and didn't develop the list as we should've - I will hold this to as much contempt as the Pagan years, at least Pagan could argue the list he was given a list that was putrid, Ratts was inept but was gifted the job by his mate Sticks

I wonder how long before Matheison challenges if he hasn't already started the wheels in motion

He's been there and done that Bomba. Not interested. But can still pull a few strings with nephew Craig on board.

So had Ruddy as PM and he said he wouldn't be back, but pollies don't speak the truth its in their DNA

Doesn't mean Mattho wont again, he is making a few rumblings at present and talking to a few guys I know at the game last night something may happen, time will be the best judge at the end of the day....

I'd be extremely surprised. Bruce spends 80 per cent of his time in Queensland couldn't devote the time that is required. And unless something has happened that I'm not aware of...he and Sticks are very good mates. Besides...not sure what he brings to the table. He hired Pagan, backed Ratten's contract extension. He's had his turn. Appreciate the coin, but it's time for some new blood.

The CEO just last week said there would be radical changes to the list.

Seems to be a few key people on different pages at our club.

In summary:

1. Kernahan says ths list is fine.
2. Swan says that there will be radical changes to the list
3. Matheison says that the list is poor and as well as the recruiting
4. Malthouse says that 2 No's 1 are untouchable.

What the hell is going on?

Trying to hide the fact that they've stuffed up with regard to contracts because they've had ad-hoc list management.

Well, if someone has ""stuffed up", which Board Directors and/or administration are going to accept responsibility for the present situation and resign or should these same people have the right to make the same decisions again?
