On the membership feedback thread, there was commentary about how we were going in terms of membership numbers and the lack of progress since the start of the year. on 1 Feb, we had just over 32,300. 4 Days later, numbers have increase by around 700. Good progress but I acknowledge that early season onfield performance will dictate who many we end up with. For example, after we lost to Port Adelaide in SA, the phones stopped ringing.

Tough start to the year and at the rate they are signing it will be flat out being 40k come start round 1
Be 3-2 after 5 and we wont make 50k

The issue is simple, while I am all for full season Membership (I am a full AFL member), we are wayyyy behind the other clubs in their offerings of alternatives... Collingwood offer 3,10,12 game memberships I believe... This makes the club accessible for someone who maybe cannot afford a full season membership or have family commitments that make a full season membership not economical....

While they can afford only a 3 game membership now, when times are better for them they will move to the next level etc. (and the reverse when times get tough rather than giving up membership altogether, they simply ramp it down) but they are at least involved and also more importantly able to be COUNTED by the club!!!!!

I'd be happy with a 3-2 start, if the non believers understand the draw then they would be too.....

Was expecting more from the weekend carnival. I was thinking 1000+ but if the players aren't being friendly to the kids no wonder we only got 200 new members.

Robinson should be in charge on days like that. Murphy can be his offsider. And get Fev back too, just for the carnivals and membership drives.

Verbs the people signed up yesterday wont reflect until later this week once they are all processed. The 223 increase would of related to members signed up late last week.
