Scream for Ratts and the MC to look at new players and then scream when he does it because we want the old favourites back.
Here's something that's been posted by many.

If we don't give players like O'Keefe at least a couple of games, how do we know if he's even in the ballpark before we write him off as an injury-prone failure?
Watson was dropped and people went berserk that he hadn't been treated fairly. Well he's back and we want Thornton in his stead.
Ellard's qualities and faults are well known but we want him back in the team in place of ....Curnow. Curnow is fast. No, he's slow. He's soft. No, he's good at creating stoppages.
We need harder at it mids. Give Lucas a go. Put Collins in the midfield. Rest Bell, it's good for his development.

I know this is a public forum and full of people with different ideas but honestly, if we take it too seriously there is a problem.

You can please some of the people all of the time.
You can please all of the people some of the time.
But you can't please all of the people all of the time.
Abraham Lincoln said that.

I'll let you be in my team if I can be in your'un
Bob Dylan said (almost) that.

I agree with what you are saying but if I was a player with good form in the VFL and was "named" in the team or as an emerg knowing full well I was not going to get a gig...I would be a bit miffed/insulted. My point was I have no clear vision of what the MC is trying to achieve at the moment. Wins v development v mix. Has Ratts been told just don't get beat too bad?

To clarify:

A few months ago, Mick Malthouse was talking about team selection at Collingwood, and the importance of not looking at your "top 22" exclusively and the rest as just bandaids.

He said that when they started looking at their "top 40", training & selection opened up player depth because everybody was regarded as a potential senior player. Young players came into the team based on form and their understanding of what their team roles were.

It also meant that players like Lockyer and Didak weren't automatic selections regardless of experience or popularity etc.

I just thought it was interesting on the back of Mark MaClure's recent comments that Ratten's last six weeks have been his greatest learning curve because injuries and suspension has forced him to look at the total team's youth and form instead of simply favourites.

Therefore, Thornton, Ellard and Mitchell would consider themselve unlucky not to be in our disfunctional forward line.

Happy to give the kids a go but that has to be the worse/most inexperienced backline that we have played in the last 4 years -Doesnt help that jamo hendo and laids all out and duigan losing form completely - should win because of our onballers but a worry if lions get 50% or more of contested ball for periods of the game
Not sure whether white and okeefe will be on our list next year - but thought okeefe was unlucky to be dropped after one game last year

Not sure why watson got dropped a couple of weeks ago either - surely he needs games into him

Need a better performance fromtuohy this week I like him but output over the last few weeks hasnt been great

Good to see casboult mcinnes and bell retained

Curnow lucky to stay - collins unlucky

Doesnt say much about future of joseph and davies and collins if they cant retain their place in such a depleted side

Coach needs to get them across the line this week otherwise he is in strife

Happy with the changes although not sure what we do when they bomb it in long to Brown and Merrett, we might see some Navy Blue Rag Doll moments! I can hopefully now avoid throwing the remote control at the TV during the weekly AJ 'Brain fade in front of goal resulting in obvious free kick and soda goal' moment!!! I am sure another will step up to fill the requirement but for now at least I am happy! Cant wait to see Robbo and Bell go at the Lions Midfield, hopefully some Kamikaze chaos!

well, there's only way to turn an inexperienced backline into an experienced one.

let the carnage begin.

I thought they might have given Mitchell a go and Casboult a rest.
Guess not.

MW is barracking for the Lions too, I said I'd shave my beard off if they beat Carlton. She's been telling me to get rid of it since I decided to stop shaving about a month ago

Now that we have Tex and Mitch back, we're only 4 or 5 short of our best 22. Only see Judd, Jamo, Laidler & Hendo as the outs who are shoe-ins for our best 22 (maybe Hammer/Warnock if we go back to a model that wasn't working). Backline is depleted, but we should be able to limit their I50's and starve their forwards with the mids and others we'll have out there.

Blues by 40 plus.

Wewill do this on the trot if they take the levels of intensity to the game they have taken the last 4 weeks.

Play the kids? They're playing. And they aren't disgracing themselves. If we're tanking, it isn't working because we keep winning.
That's a win-win for the club. Apart from the draft pick, that is.

I dont give a @#$%&! what the situation. While we're still a chance to make the 8, I'll be hoping for a win even day of the week.
