The current Bulldogs team has the worst conversion of scores to inside 50's in the history of keeping records on such stats. Next week, you will be staggered at just awful we are and how poorly we are being coached. Ratten is no master-coach but he will structure up the numerical advantage a passage behind the stoppage, wait for the obligatory Dogs quick kick out of the pack to nobody in particular and then kick it back over our heads with interest time and again. We are proof that clearances and contested possessions mean jack-schizen in today's version of the game when the quality of said clearances and contested possessions is so poor. We will play your boys back into some form next week, mark my words.

But they're playing the Blues Sedat, and minus half the side.....your boys will find it a whole lot easier than they've had it so far this season. Should be a great contest

I remember our last meeting with such fondness. Boyd played a superb shut-down role on Judd instead of getting it 35+ times and turning it over every second time. And then there was Cooney - the explosive jet version, not the imposter limping around this season - the last time we'll ever get to see him at or near his prime

Their defence.... wow!!!.... that esseindon reject??? never spoken about as an AA.. but wow!!!.. and how he leads that defence of not overly tall guys as a machine....!!!

their pick #150 ruckmen???(One from Canada growing up riding reindeers)

WOW!!!!!!

Coaching... development.. etc... A +

US????

BIG F FOR FAIL!!!

See the difference???

Their mids - they drafted to supplement what was already a pretty good combination (Goodes, McVeigh, O'Keefe, Bolton) - they added Luke Parker (40s), Hannebery (high 20s), got Kennedy with a 3rd rounder (whilst we used 12 for Brock + lots of $$$$$), McGlynn too, developed a rugby convert Jack into an absolute gun, hard worker, discipline, great kick, speed. Sam Reid with a pick in the 30s, Mumford ruck. Bird another NSW project that no one really wanted...too slow etc.

Defence made up of an Essendon* reject, Grundy (rookie), Alex Johnson (50s), Mattner (reject), Rhys Shaw (reject)

They've had a top pick or two....Rohan pick 6 injured all year. Blown a couple of others on Brown and Johnston.

Smart management, smart recruitment, good development, never thinking that having too many midfielders is a problem. If someone is out someone comes in and plays the same role. If we lose Laidler we're !@#$%&. They lost Goodes and Mumford for 12 combined weeks and sit on top of the !@#$%& ladder! Developed the current senior coach for quite a long time before he got the top job...everyone gets groomed to play their roles.

I thought the topic was the Bulldogs v Carlton.

It would be great if a mod could stay on topic and avoid the tag team hatchet job on Ratten that we haven't heard before. Startling news that us plebs need to have spelt us to us by the more knowledgeable posters.

Give us hell Quimby!

We straightened up Mister Yipster himself Lindsay Thomas I have no doubt we can straighten up any other Bulldog player as well.

As for Cooney he saves himself for one game per year - they will inject the crap out of him this Saturday Night and he will play his one game with full blast 4 jet engines.

Bulldogs by 4 + goals (Ratten out Saturday Night).

The thing that I'm worried about for this game is despite their problems, the Dogs are still one of the better clearance teams in the league. So if we go in with that crap, flat-footed defensive mindset we've been known for, we could get pants'd.

Since Rd 7, we've probably been bottom 4 for any AFL KPI you'd want to think of and your lads beat us last year (when we were gunning for top 4) and in the pre-season (as the Roos did). Note - every team, except for Lions, who beat us pre-season have beaten us in the real thing.

FFS, Sedat, have some faith mate, your day in the sun awaits Sat night. With our injuries/suspensions and record @ Etihad, Doggies should start favourite and you should be expecting them to get the job done.

I hate sounding so defeatist, but welcome to Carlton 2012, a year most of us around here now want behind us.

Eddie to ruck.

Good idea, he'll probably enjoy the change from CHF.

They beat us comfortably last season when we were going well. Dont expect anything to change this week, an embarrassing loss coming up i think.
