I don't know why we are patting ourselves on the back for 37K. Even Freo have 40K at present and we have how many years of famous victories and flags.

I think our membership level is

Until we get 70K we shouldn't be happy.

Hundreds of thousands of Carlton supporters and only 45K are members....

Depends on what cards are being counted, and WA is a strong footy market with only two teams (plus Dockers fans are the biggest bandwagon this side of 1850s California).

Good luck to the TC Member who's received his St Kilda membership in the mail before Round 1, but still waiting on his Carlton one.

I hope it arrives in time

Haha I feel like I have to explain the story now Brad...

A few weeks ago I received an email from St Kilda telling me my membership card has been dispatched.

I had no idea what was going on. I hadn't signed up as a St Kilda member and the don't have any close friends who barrack for that rabble of a side. So I called up the Saints and they didn't know what had happened and said they'd look into it. A few days later I received the card and hadn't heard anything from St Kilda.

So i called up the club to get more answers hoping it wasn't a case of identity theft or something but they still couldn't give me any answers and confirmed that they had all my details on file (address, phone number etc).

Still no Carlton membership though after ordering it before the cutoff date early this year or late last year and still no word back from st kilda about how this has happened.

34,767 this time last year.

So we've gone from a 25% jump on last year's figures initially, to about 8.6%. It was always going to narrow, but that leaves us well short of 50k, which means the early round boost isn't going to get us there. 49k looks like a safe call.

Maybe there was a stuff up at Ticketmaster and your Carlton membership has been processed as a Saints membership.

I think you will find it is Carlton's fault somehow.

That was one of my first thoughts to but I called Carlton a week or so earlier to see what the go with my membership and they told me there was a slight delay because a friend of mine wished to have his seats allocated near mine which they had done so they took the note off my account and said it would come within 14 days (probably pushing that timeframe as we speak actually).

We seem to be obsessed with membership numbers ,at the end of the day its not the total it is the VALUE of the membership. We will get close to 50000 and if we get 49000 who cares,I couldnt care less if bitchmond, scum or filth have more MEMBERS
big deal , look at Geelong there not fussed . When we win a flag look at our value and membership then

isnt the % going to narrow when you compare it to the initial stages, i.e. 15000 v 18750 is 25% but just 3750 members more.

fact is weve been tracking at between 3-3.5k members more than same time last year all the way along.

That would put us at just under 47k, and as you've just pointed out, it's more or less a fixed or shrinking margin on last year's figures: I'm saying we'll be close to 49k. Maybe some generous benefactors will buy 500 memberships a piece, but they'd be better off handing the club a cheque.
