I agree. Warnock, Armfield and Houla to miss. But would expect Warnock and Houla to be back in pretty soon. Assuming we win well, next week's selection should be even more interesting.

Interesting.

Warnock/Houlihan named for Bullants, but the other player not being named....logic dictates:

1) Player fitness will be given till the very last minute. Possibly Jamo?
2) Carrots may be rested for a week (however...if they went this path they would have probably rested him from the 25 all together)
3) They still haven't decided/waiting on Brisbane's lineup

I reckon it's likely to be option 1. Hope Tuohy can be a late inclusion in the Ants if thats the case. Very unlucky :(

Having seen Bower, Hendo & Kreuzer playing in the VFL last week, I have no problem at all with Bower & Hendo coming in (especially with Waite, Setanta & Laidler on the sidelines).

Kreuzer is the one I'm not sure about. We all love him, and he's made steady progress in the last 3 Bullants' games, but I wouldn't have minded seeing him have another couple of VFL games under his belt. The club seemed determined to get him for this week. I might have been inclined to play one of Hammer or Warnock, with Hendo as the relief ruckman (and play an extra running player). I wonder if Kreuzer might be used as Sub? You'd have thought what he needs his ground time, but I guess you never know...

Anyway, welcome back Kreuz - go get 'em big man!

Assuming no late changes (a number of player reported to be 'sore' - eg. Jamo, Hammer, Judd, Curnow, Robbo, JR.....did I forget anyone...?), I reckon the emergencies will be Armfield, Hoops & Warnock.

Touhy Jamo Bower
Yarran T-Bird Duigan
Scotland Ellard Simmo
Gibbs Hendo Garlett
Betts Walker Judd
Hammer Carrazzo Murph

Curnow Kreuzer Robbo
JR (Sub)

IN: Bower, Hendo, Kreuzer
OUT: Setanta (inj), Waite (inj), Armfield

And good luck to GIBBS in his milestone game...

Surprised with the Kruezer inclusion as well. Would have prefered to have given him another week in the VFL. Maybe out of the selectors hands however, time will tell.
We need to start utilising the sub better. We need to start rotating players (resting) via this position, because it is a position.
The sooner we all grasp this and our players understand that everyone is going to get a turn to freshen up (obviously injuries during matches will play a part) the better will be at the end of this year.
The side looks so much better. Pity waite is out this week but it won't be for long!

I hear ya.

Will be interested to see over next few weeks whether targets up forward like Hendo, Kreuzer, etc perhaps result in us having shots at goal from more gettable positions, perhaps straighten us up a little. Perhaps we're already doing that, and just can't kick.

Even though Hampson was named in the 18, My Mail said that warnock plays and hampson misses! I was also told (@3pm before team named) Henderson for Sentanta and Waite ( who will miss 2-3 with a hammy) for krooz and also armfield will miss for either bower or Houlihan. So my mail turned out to be pretty good , so I reckon warnock will play!

That's my vibe anyway.

Dont think the in's hurt our run, or make us 'to tall'. Obviously wont play all of Hendo, Hammer, Krooze, Warnock.

Kreuzer straight swap for Setant, Hendo straight swap for Waite which only leaves the only structural change being Bower straight swap for you'd think Army/Thouy. Bower plays more like a HBF than a lock down tall, so cant see the problem, and if anything adds more flexibility.

Im sure this has been asked before but for the Sunday games, if a player is named in the starting 18 (eg. Kreuzer and Bower) can they 100% NOT be 1 of the 3 players to be left out of the squad of 25 for game day?

Don't think so, believe we can still change the 18 before tomorrow night.

Murphy signing before the Lions game is funny.

The ironing is delicious.

That is correct. Bower could be looked as a swap for laidler really. The mix looks good. Kreuzer will spend a bit of time on the bench leaving Henda and Walker to do their thing. The big question is whether Henda can play like Waite at CHF and if the team have a good understanding of what he is doing. I think we will be ok. If Hampson doesnt play then our two rucks will be underdone. Hopefully that doesn't cost us.

Armfield or Touhy to miss.

I would have liked Kreuzer to play another week or 2 for the Bullants but perhaps the MC also have in mind to give him a game before possibly coming up against Mumford followed by Cox/NicNat?

If Bower is fit, am v glad to have him back in. If he stays fit, should be cherry ripe for the business end of the season. Long term, I prefer him in the team ahead of Thornton, although Thornton has done better than expected over the past few weeks and can take a good contested mark.

I wish Robert Copeland was playing - Murphy owes him one.
