Love the "ins"

Armfield unlucky to go, AJ unlucky to stay.

Heat is on for spots which can only be a good thing.

No Brock in the emergencies!

Happy with those changes.

Big Army fan but came back looking a little rough. A game in the 2s to get him back on track and he'll be firing again.

Really good to see Lucas back, what a great pick up he's turned out to be. Many years of enjoyment watching him run around.

Thought Robbo was good for 3 weeks then 1 poor game and he is out, harsh I say, esp given he would have been the player to set the tone by going hard for the ball and man

Can't believe they kept Thorton and dropped Armfield.
Did they think we were a bit quick coming out of the back line?
Can only assume that they needed a tall for match ups.

Setanta injured calf. Wonder if he's been carrying that for awhile.
Would explain the form drop off.

Really good ins.

Not to sure on Tbirds retention though. Is he insurance if one of the tall defenders go down? Is he playing a genuine forward role this week? :? Would prefer Hammer as a forward option.

Army was down last week so a firm decision by the MC on him. He'll be back!

like the changes except I would have had AJ out instead of Army. Looking forward to seeing Bower 'the power' (my god herald sun you are morons) getting back into it. Can't believe he has ended up missing half a season. He will be a welcome addition to our defence and is a key piece of the puzzle. Likewise Yarran. Forwardline hsn't functioned anywhere near as well or looked as dangerous as it was prior to his injury.

Should be a cracker this game, providing of course we turn up to play this week.

Go Blues!!

Not harsh at all. I dont think he is fit enough as yet to play more than 3 or 4 games becoming fatigued. Another preseason or two before he gains the consistency required to play continuously throughout the season.

Agree it looks like one tall too many. Hopefully MC have had a good look at freos lineup and think playing the extra tall is not going to cost us.

Reading Ratts q&a you get an understanding about how fitness comes into play with selection. Id imagine that is behind Armfields non selection. There are a number of reasons not obvious to us that could be behind it. That or perhaps he a late change will see him lineup.

No doubt Joseph is earmarked for Ballantyne. Just hope they have a Plan B for Joseph if he fails, unlike last week.

Interesting changes.

Would have liked to see Army stay in but I assume that his demontion is to get sharp touch and confidence back or a punishment for not following team rules last week.

A little suprised to see AJ stay in but he is the ideal match up for Ballantyne, especially given Army's omission.

Thornton still in irks me a little, but the only other player I want in is hammer so team balance probably an issue. He needs to do his job and well this week though.

Great to see the ins:

Lucas-oozes class. Can't believe how composed he has been in his games to date.

Bower: Our key post defender who knows how to attack (unlike T-bird and Jamo). Has grunt about him to which we need back there.

Yazz: probably our best disposer, and a player capable of marking on a lead.

Hendo: I actually would have been happy to get Hammer in as he is a freak, but Hendo is being rewarded for effort and performance. Grab the chance and make it happen mate.

Great changes - Hendo for O'Hailpin - neutral, Armfield for Bower - Tall rebounding defender > short rebounding defender (especially v Freo), Lucas for Browne - class > arse, Yarran for Robinson - always look more dangerous wit Yaz in the team.

Overall we have improved on our offensive firepower and class.

Ditto Hammer surely ? Would have loved to see him have a leap at big Sandilands, and free up Kreuz to play up forward. Sauce will get slaughtered in the ruck. So obviously we are planning to rove to Sandilands all night ? (as most teams do I suppose).

I like the changes - though given the option, I'd probably have made 1 more change (thornton for hampson)

Henderson definitely deserves a game - thought he looked very good the week prior to being dropped and hasnt set a foot wrong since.

Why will Sauce get slaughtered? Very good tap ruckman. Kreuzer is the concern at present.

I Like Lucas in, as that means more run thru the midfield. He was a great pickup in the draft, and is going to be a 200 game player. I hope Yarran shows more interest and intensity than in the 2's last week, and provides a good option forward this week. Garlett needs to "Lift his game" as well. Hendo for Carlos (inj) is OK, but why not promote Hampson, his height and athletic ability would surely be advantagess in the forward line for us. He could also be used to Tag Team Sandilands in the ruck. Our midfielders might have to rove to Sandilands at the stoppages to win first use of the ball. Bower back puts some stability into our backline. Thornton forward might be successful, if not, he could be a good backup for Pav. Joseph ha been given one more chance to atone for last week, and will line up against Ballyntyne. Carrazzo should tag Barlow. Worried that it's Haselby's 200th, as they will play for him, but if Ratts has them prepared properly, our boys should "come to play." I have a feeling we'll win this one well, as we've always come back after a bad loss. Go Blues....
