god that is soooo interesting - let's make adam coach.

my point being Bradley and Diesel are part of the brain trust leading this club.

ahhh so Ratts, Braddley and Deisal have no diea

nor does Sticks, Gleeson or Brown

have I forgotten anyone - oh wait Teague, Lappin and?????

any other Carlton bloke you'd like to have a crack at? :fight:

Do they or have they been following the trend of modern day football? Do they understand generation Y? Did they decide to get involved after Pratty jumped n board and they gave there mate the senior coach?

I'd say Braddles, Diesel and Browne wouldn't have the faintest idea. They all come from 'lets buy success' era

Teague and Lappin yes (just been out of the game)

How can you possibly paint that as a negative? He hung around whilst the Club was on its knees. he didnt run for cover like so many.

This thread is full of character assassination, hearsay and panic. It mildly intriguing but quite appalling at the same time. Its like watching the stock market in September last year....

By the way he was also around in some of our boom times. What does that mean? Absolutely nothing at all but whilst your drawing spurious bows between irrelevant points, lets throw it in there.

Its not a characted assassination.... a character assasination means he had no part in our darkest era..

And yet he clearly did!!!!

He was part of the mechanics that brought about our downfall....he was part of the mechanics that gave us our worst period.. and he is part of a boys club!!!

To deny this means just because someone was a brolliant player he can wash his hands of all responsibility!!!!

Id rather he walked away...he has little to offer.... exceot that he is a likeable chap.... big deal!!!!

He has been turned into the face of the footy club by Jack!!!

The navy blue and white CFC insignia is the face of this footy club....

People come and go... just like we will one day....

Sticks has been pressing butons and pulling levers for over a decade... and how have we performed????

actually Collingwood has simply followed a model we tried to set up with Brittain - great model but when the shit hits the fan models are the first to break down. I think they have down well not only giving Bucks 2 years but signing Malthause and effectively stopping any other side from grabbing him.

I would love for us to think about the best structure to place around Ratts - chat with him but really stretch ourselves to think outside of what we currently have.

It was a pretty smart deal they made.
Keep both of them off the market for 2 years, gets Buckley some proper experience while keeping Malthouse in charge, and keeping Malthouse happy (and also safeguard Buckley's early years as senior coach) by giving him a DoC gig instead of turfing him out.

Certainly.

Sticks IMHO is not the face of the CFC and never was or has been.

Juddy holds that mantle now in addition to the Fab 3.5.

Sticks should be trying to head hunt a man like Mike Fitzpatrick to lead this club.

I know many on here are not the biggest fans of a Ahmed Fahour, but this man did what ever it took to get the NAB the number 1 bank in Australia (right or wrong) he did it....... now the NAB don't wanna be seen as the number 1 bank, they wanna be as recognised as Australia's most trustful bank :donk:

People have no idea how much power Sticks weilds to the masses of uneductated people that are Carlton supporters.
Elliot knew him and he was Elliots "useful idiot"
Collo had to bring someone in to counterbalance Sticks so brought in SOS.
Then Collo didnt dare to get rid of Sticks even though Sticks was part of the whole Elliot decline.. not saying the hugest reason.. but he was there and was an accomplice.
Sticks has been the Lord of the Flies 'Ring'... whoever controls Sticks controls the club....
Sticks isnt running things at the club by himself....

There are people that use Sticks to get things done ...
Noone will question Sticks role... no matter what he does.. people falll around him....

Do YOU REALLY BELIEVE he is presidential material.. and that nobody else is qualified to do the job except Sticks?
But by having Sticks in charge it stops any moves.... but were stuck with him and his allies...

And his allies are not cutting edge type of guys.. they like things done the old way....

Sticks will stay as president.... till Sticks himself removes himself...

simple as that...

But how did he find himself there is the question you should ask!!!

Best qualified??

Juddy does not influence policy or election ballet boxes...
yet!!!

Cant wait till he does though!!!!

at the moment he is a footballer....

But his presence does not influence who we have as coach.. and what direction the club goes from here in a true sense...

Sticks does!!!

He is the single most powerful figure at the club.... he is Dr Elliots Frankenstein..

Cause our club is stuck in the eighties. Other than Swann, no one has any idea.

I dont suppose there's any point in saying that's just a plain dumb thing to say because no doubt you have access to powerful club insiders who'll confirm that ?

I wouldnt mind being stuck in the 80's we did win 3 flags and played off in 4 GF's

The 80's man. Footy was simple back then and...........

WE BOUGHT OUR SUCCESS. People involved with the club now come from an era when success was paid for and thats why they think its so easy and simple. THEY GOT NO IDEA!!!!!

Mike's already doing a lot for the game, and he had his stint on the CFC board. Some of the same faces that went spineless and saw him get the arse off it back then still have a say in the background today, except they don't get as in your face as Jack does, and resultantly, still get a look in. That won't change until they're dead and buried, unfortunately. So no Mike.

Ahmed Fahour is a solid candidate but he's not in the country, and he's still a working man; doesn't need some figurehead job while he's pushing himself around for 40+ hours a week.

As for the NAB's new campaign, it makes perfect sense for any bank ever, the idea that they didn't paint themselves as community-minded institutions before seems staggering. In unfavourable economic times that have come about through bad lending practises, how else would you want a lending institution to portray itself.

That's not even factoring in the scandals the NAB went through in the last 10 or so years. When you really don't have a clue you go all out, don't you?

Secret societies. Shadowy figures. People in the background making all the decisions.....oooooooooh intriguing. Sounds like a great book.
