 I thought so.

I get it too. Its a real conundrum sitting on the outside listening to rumours from media and supporters.
The awful thing about Chinese whispers is they start with spit balling, or with malice in mind, and the turn into something Fair dinkum mate.

Like Franky said Sam is one to say anything for a buck.
Got his chance at 3AW on the chance he would make things up and where the consequences.

I couldn't give a stuff, if true, he doesn't barrack for Carlton anymore.
His type is the last I want barracking for Carlton.
There's a bit of Judas about Sam and any Carlton rumour mongering supporters (if that's what you call them)

Hate to break it to you but these media people, while they may well be douchebags, they probably, in fact let's say definitely would have greater knowledge about the goings on at the club than you (or any of us).

They're called sources.

You should try not to get too worked up about the media. There is probably a kernel of truth to what they say.

so you think they don't make stuff up

or they report stuff in a colour that suits their agenda as opposed to reality?

I know they make stuff up. Kernel of truth is a continuum from truth to complete bullshit

Paddy every time I have ever been involved in matters that have been reported on by the press they have never been accurate and no where near the correct story

I had a journalist basically pinch one of my posts off the predecessor to this website word for word and use it in an article -this guy is now on radio and television -no it’s not the Pooper

They make things up and it is worse when they have a deadline for a story -the less they got the more mayonnaise they put on the story

I grew up in an environment where everything reported about my family was utter bullshit.

A kernel of truth? Well, only according to the journalists sense of truth is my experience.

LOL you fools think you have more contacts inside AFL walls than AFL journalists?

Look I don't like them either but to think they don't have any contacts is laughable

Paddy my dear friend, it is you who looks foolish. No one is suggesting a journalist doesn’t have more contacts.

What I read is a journalist has a habit of plagiarising and in my personal experience the capacity to completely distort the truth. Their job is to sell drama - it leans into our mass apetite for it. I notice that you have a terrific appetite for drama so understand your capacity to get caught up in it.

The comment was Sam makes things up.
My point is these guys know more than us and thus there would be a kernel of truth.
Not sure how one can argue against that. Unless you are a fool

obviously you've never encountered their bullshit - I have both with family (where a family member was demonized - the truth was nothing like what had been reported, Their reports put a whole community against my family member until the truth came out and children were being abused, and thanks to my family member, the abuse stopped 9though the perpetrator escaped (another whole story) and once professionally - again what was reported was just a lie - their source - a junior employee they had called for a comment who had no idea and said they had no idea about what had happened - they were not only a junior employee they were on a beach holiday at the time with their family - which became "XXXX College has no idea how this happened or why, hopeless organization etc etc etc....- I know I was the junior employee on holiday.

Oh they have contacts no one disputes that, but to then think they do not bullshit regardless...I'd say ignorance is bliss, PC

Is that you King Charles?

I can add to the 'just make it up' camp....

Been with a footballer when he was reportedly somewhere else... Oops sorry... Sources said he was somewhere else....

Have posted this before, but for some reason most sports journalists think they have to be rumour mongers??
Just be a journalist ffs...

Go Blues

But the point of this is Sammy and his counterparts do not report the truth, or maybe just a little bit of truthy sorta thingy.

I know between half a dozen people I speak to combined know more than Sam about Carlton.
We all have secrets others don't know of. But who cares about that.
london speaks from a position of experience, but,

Don't believe the hype

Generalisation but I find the interesting truth is covered up by various parties until leaked or exposed by a half decent journalist.

Unfortunately, the truth that makes up the majority of media reports is actually quite dull so what's a poor journalist to do?

G Healy seems sensible
Agrees with the call made earlier this week that Carlton 2023 could be Melbourne 2020
And as such you back Voss in but this time next year you probably know if he is the right man or not

I am happy with this
As much as I have criticised Voss, the fact is nobody wants to sack another coach so quick and more to the point we wouldn't be the first team who have had a catastrophic in-season breakdown (in leadership, development, game plan, tactics, whatever) and the test of a coach ultimately is to diagnose the issues and fix them, and that is where we are right now.
Voss has to figure the shit out and fix it.

In saying all this, we don't know what is happening inside the club, and logic would suggest there is a small chance he has cocked everything up and if that is the case he would probably get the knife this year. But I would be surprised if that is the case. I hope not anyhow.

Interestingly there are quite a few experts who have come out this past few days saying they feel we should probably start to turn it around soon if not now, so lets' see if we can start to see some real improvements in the coming week or two.

I still worry 44 points is a very low base to pick oneself up from. I mean this has come off the back of 6 weeks of consistent nosediving scores. So if we are to win this weekend it'll probably have to come off the back of reducing Essendon*'s scoring considerably to around 60-70 and us finding a way to kick a score around 70-80.
Anything more would be a bonus and a surprise.

Gerard Healey is generally good and calls it as he sees it.
Doesnt get caught up in rumours and headlines.

I must admit I got awfully annoyed in him.

Havent seen him for more than 10 years.
Good Peninsula Boy.
