Well I'd go one step further than that even and I'd say the Low Five should be outlawed from the game altogether, its just a bit of Seppo bullshit the West Indies have introduced into the game, and I reckon when it comes to congratulating one of your teammates, there's simply no better way of doing it than with the traditional Australian hug or a kiss or a lick, a grope on the arse or a dry root, Its still the most appropriate way, I think, of showing one's exubberance and excitement, and its certainly the most masculine and manly way of going about it

I suspect we're looking for player conflicts that aren't there or at least exaggerating them.

urghh, that's a stretch... they don't make eye contact, they don't acknowledge each other, and more importantly, on the field during play they don't talk or communicate. it's real liability stuff.

a few weeks back against the saints, young does a handpass over the back of his head, no look, straight to a saints player and it ends up being a goal. i was sitting in the seats in our back pocket and weiters lets out an almighty 'fuckkkkkk' and stares at the bench. a runner comes out to young and he gets ripped, when he jogs past, weiters was chirping at him.

no idea what he was saying, but none of it was banter or friendly

i think put the boxing gloves on them, and let them swat mosquitoes for 3 mins... neither of them could hurt anyone. it's low risk/ high reward

Good. I hope he gave him a decent spray.

Could be wrong but I read it as he was referring to Young coughs it up at first sign of heat. Not Weiters.

I know. I'm playing funny buggers like Paddy is.

Nevertheless, Ive seen Weiters panic plenty of times this year.
Punching the ball straight to the opposition for a shot at goal when it was an easy mark.
Kicking the ball a bit low and straight into the arms of a waiting opponent...goal.
It doesnt happen all the time when the heat is on, but it hgappens...not every time.

Same with Young. He doesnt cough it up first sign of heat....every time?
That's a slur imo. Exaggeration.

Ive seen the backline work for and with each other successfully.
When everybody played their role everyone looked good.
Every player has weaknesses...and they can be minimised but may show up every now and then.

I was referring to Young. Obviously an exaggeration but I do think his handballs and kicks are often terrible when under pressure. Little dinky disposals that often present as gifts to the opposition.

And Yes Weiters has shown some of this also but less often. And his last 2 weeks have been very good.

I wouldn't play Young until he cuts those poor disposals out of his game.

Particularly his short pass kicks.
He kicks flat footed and doesn't straighten his foot enough.
So there's not enough penetration , too much hang time

Not enough leadership and accountability at the club

I wonder if Young got a bit too big for his footy boots when JW was out injured last year.

tbh it looked like just angry swearing. the non helpful kind that achieves nothing. I thought it was a little off at the time, which was long before i heard they can't stand each other.

either way we're a mess ... our list is not bottom 4/5, we should be making finals this season. maybe even winning a game or two.

we look not very well coached and the players look not very invested. and now it leaks to the media something that's been doing the rounds for 3-4 weeks now there's players who don't want to play with each other.

Has he shown anything to suggest he's too big for his boots?

I know everyone is looking for clues, but I really feel for Young.

He's copping a thrashing from some Carlton supporters. I don't get it.

Times like this is when unity and loyalty to each other is the most important thing to have to work our way through this quagmire.

Mud sticks.

I'm just bored and theorising.

I suspect it's more they need to learn how to play together better.

There were some patches early in the year when Young was actually playing better than Weitering.

Weitering was obviously affected by losing his life savings, but since he made that public, has been recapturing his best form.

Weitering has had his lows last year too after his injury. Young held fort.
Young was relieved to have Weitering return.

Weitering did some stupid things this year too.
I thought the first 6 rounds Young was the better of the two.

Who will pull Weiters head in when he's stuffing up or not thinking.

Nah, I can't see it being Cripps let alone the meek Young
