Agree with Tal - I think we are rebuilding well on our playing list in terms of rebuild under the new regime - the new regime have it seems a strategy and realistic plan to take us to the top - the frustrating part for us is really the ineptitude of the last 5 or 6 years before or more - during these years we never had a clear strategy to take us not only into the 8 but to the top - we also never took a realistic approach to our list ie how good it was

We still have a long way to go given the disastrous Malthouse years

Having a 'long way to go' is the problem.

Don't get me started on Madhouse ... he is the root cause.

Incorrect. The root cause was a dysfunctional board of self-righteous egotistical squillionares. Kernahan and Swann were a symptom of their mismanagement, and Malthouse was a flow-on symptom.

I basically read this as:-

In:- 2 x 1st round picks, 2 unknown potentials plus a bunch of crap.

Out:- 1 x 200+ A-grade B&F midfielder, 1 x very good 200game athletic swingman, 1 x very serviceable and reliable half-back defender and a bunch of crap.

Lever would be similar to Carlton trading 13 and Weitering for Sloane. We wouldn't do it. Their club and mindless fanboys rate their young KPP like he's another Ben Hart. Buckleys and none.

More important to use Gibbs and Tuohy to brings more mids to Carlton.

No doubt SOS and his mates will be assessing all options. The possible loss of Gibbs and Tuohey won't tie us down to dealing with those respective clubs on compensation. GWS and GOC have plenty of midfield depth. If Adelaide and Geelong are really keen, they can possibly extricate a couple of midfielders on our behalf.

As International Rookies, are they allowed another year on rookie list? If not, I would promote Byrne to primary list (preselect him with #61?). Not sure I would promote Sheehan.

Would it still work if we 13 was a low 20's pick? Say Crows say no to 13 and lever. Lyons goes somewhere for pick 22 (for example) Could we get 22 and Lever and still pull off the rest of your trade ? Maybe minus 61.?

How about pick 13 and Adelaides first rounder next year. No way Adelaide will give up crouch. Would cancel out the reason why they are getting Gibbsz
Get Barlow in for free to help us for a year or two, is a much better character then Gibbs to. Not as good on the field but would help Cripps inside.
Pick 13 and a couple of late selections for marchbank Pickett and Stewart.
Either cockatoo or draft picks for touhy.
Hit the draft hard for midfielders this year and next.
We may not have much talent in the field next year but we will have a heap of kids and we weren't that talents this year, but I will back bolts in to get this team to give its all each week which we did this year apart from 3 games. And will back sos in to nail draft picks. 2019 look out

Jesus H. God dancing Christ - no but but no way do we give the pick 13 to GWS for the Marchbank deal.

Do we really know why Touhy and Gibbs want out? I hope it has nothing to do with the culture or Bolton. I thought we made some good strides this year to improve our culture, list and a good environment for the players to develop and to become a competitive team.

Sorry we don't use either pick 5 or 13 (if we get this from Adelaide) for the Marchbank deal.

We are taking GWS players that they don't want and salary cap dumps and injury risk players - we are doing GWS the favour.

Marchbank has hardly played any football for two years in the AFL and hardly any in his last year at TAC level.

GWS are going to accept a third rounder from Collingwood for Hoskin-Elliott.

Our second round pick is more than enough for GWS for the Marchbank and unwanted rubbish.

Adelaide are trying to ream us and you want to give pick 13 to GWS for their lot of risky players so we can ream ourselves - no thanks.

Gibbs went rooting and Tuohy wants more cash.

Bolton is doing fine.

Im kinda with agro on this.

Gibbs is worth more than pick 13 alone. Easilly!

Marchbank might be good, but he has shown nothing to prove that he will be worthy of a pick 13 or even pick 5, which is what GWS are hoping for.

In the year Marchbank was drafted, most predicted he will go late in the first round with many linking us to him with pick 19.
Now he's played 4 AFL games in two years and all of a sudden we need to dish off pick 5 or pick 13 for him?

And GWS throwing in other players that can't make the senior squad isn't adding any value either.
