Why Tuesday... RDO tomorrow?

One thing I'd like us to attach on to what you said, is I'd like to see us give young players (hell, even first years), 2-3 games as a matter of course

I have no stats to base this on but it always seems like Geelong do that.

I thought the Geelong and/or Sydney MO was to keep them in the magoos for two years so that when they come into the senior side they're hardened enough to thrive.

We have only recently emerged from a bleak decade of putting loads of games into kids and getting SFA in return. I realise that's not exactly what you're advocating, but I am happy with our new policy of not promoting them until they've matured a bit.

The only drawback with getting #3 is that I'd have to re-read the draft profiles and consider the blokes I never thoight we'd be looking at...

Bulldogs struggling with 17 for Smith

Wonder if 12 tempts them?

Smith to cats
SDK to blues

Who would know…. I’d be happy with SDK and pick 14 in the draft

That would be fantastic.

Pipe dream. The under contract SDK has already won a flag and is worth more than one pick. SDK will move into the ruck like TDK who took his time developing into a game changing follower. If Sam was on the market, Hawthorn would be chasing him and not Barrass.

Trade period ends on Wednesday, so Tuesday is more or less Friday.

I can imagine the reaction if we secure pick and pass on Draper or Lalor for a Murphy Reid or another mid who works out. Win, win. Haven't picked a Murphy with a top ten for 19 years. Lock it in Nick.

I’d rather keep the first two rounds picks, first round is a gamble so I’d rather double the odds, instead of betting everything on one messiah pick.

Edit: I have little faith in us getting it right with two picks let alone one.

Apparently WC have knocked back 12-14 for pick 3. Reported by this Ryan Daniel’s journalist.

Fair enough. Wouldn’t surprise if we’re trying to draft the same bloke.

Freo too

If WC don’t want to play nice and pay fair price with 3 and 26. Walk away.
I don’t want to burn another high pick (would be 3 if we don’t get something decent back) just to land ONE.
There are good players in the top 20.

The same rag that claimed last week that Houston had nominated Collingwood?

They just make it up.

As mentioned in the player thread, Weitering has re-signed until the end of 2031.
