Agree with all said by Blues2005, except i still wonder if SOS was another mates apptmt, time will tell.

From the outside Trigg seems to understand the club and where we are at and seems to have a plan.

MLG is a dreadful media perforner. I hope he is better behind closed doors.

Clubs who draft well can turn around fairly quickly and the new coach will have a few years with low expectations. No prospective senior coach is going to turn down a gig. The chance may never come again. I know pretty much nothing abt the names being mentioned, just hope we get it right, and that we finally get a few good players right across the draft.

You'd think something's up. Bolton is short priced due to media hype. Burns and Pyke had coverage also. Interesting one is Monty. He's come in from 41 to 16 to 11 in 24 hours.

Hope it's not Bolton.

Why do you hope it's not Bolton? From where I see it he is well placed to get the gig.

Been a key part of the most successful system going, through Box Hill to senior side (a synergy between 2nds an seniors we can't seem to get right). Seems to have the culture we need too...smiling assassin?

Jim thinks it's impossible for a guy who's never played at the top level to be a successful senior coach. Believes the players won't respect him.

Grro said Barker was over the line too. I think !'ll wait for the official announcement before celebrating a new appointment.

Yep, the media said Barker was firming for the role too. Changes every couple of weeks.

I hope we settle this soon, as there are many important decisions to be made this off season.

Because he's never played at highest level. Never works as you never get full player respect. Fails each time. I remember Brendon McCartney, highly regarded but also never played at the highest level, coming out of a similar wonderful system at Geelong and struggled at the Dogs. Brittain, coming from under Parko and another who had never played at the highest level, managed to take us from a GF, PF, from Parko's days, to a spoon in 2 years. You can go back before then too with others.

I do not want to go down that path again in our precarious situation. Our tail wags the dog enough, don't give the players another excuse.

You want to go that way, your risk. Especially when there's other seeming competent one's like Don Pyke, dual premiership player, who's had his own team, experienced and highly regarded assistant.
