I believe he has done that.
Wright might be the better person to fix our playing list and assistant coaching issues though.
Also IIRC, Wright was at Collingwood when they tried to get Voss but due to him being unavailable during the interview process because of finals, McRae was ultimately given the job. And once Port were out and both Ross and Clarkson said no, we pounced on him.
I can't see Voss getting the boot until they have tried the above changes first.

nope. wright didn't rate voss. voss never got the call for a 2nd interview. wright identified mcrae and pretty much single handedly bought him over. he was the man wright wanted when he parachuted buckley out of there.

there's lots of media out there backing this up including an old interview with wright where he said as much.

Please provide a link.
All I can see it article after article of Voss saying he didn't have the mental capacity to go through a lengthy interview process when he was preparing Port for the PF's.
Mc Rae was appointed on the 1st of September 2021, 10 days before the PF.

i've been looking for the last 1/2 hour. it was a facebook post from a carlton page that appeared on my wall. the guy referenced an interview with wright, back at collingwood talking about the mcrae appointment.

it said voss applied and was told he wouldn't receive an interview as the short list was already done. the shortlist was mcrae and another who i forget.

wright's first choice was sam mitchell, but he couldn't offer mitchell the job before hawks did, and the hawks had to shunt clarkson to make that happen bcos they knew the pies were circling.

it was a proper longform journalist article, which is why i remember it. you don't get to read much longform anymore. was like a 20 min read.

i remember doing a google check a couple months ago about wright. there's all kinds of random articles out there about him, and a few referenced that he didn't even consider voss as a coach bcos he didn't rate him.

No doubt we will ruin his impressive resume as well.

Let me know if you do find it, I'll be interested in reading it.
I know he wanted Mitchell but couldn't get him, but I have never heard or can find any reference/article that he was not into Voss or didn't rate him etc....

good article... one of the ones i read too.

i need to find this facebook one. it just popped up on my wall. i'm not a member of any cfc facebook groups. it's maddening listening to the masses say things like keep [insert player] at all costs.

it's about the club and winning, not any individual. anyway, i digress

The beauty about Wright and all the media Hype is that he brings recent proven success.
TDK would be weighing up his chance for a Premiership vs $$$ and other players that want to move back to Melbourne could see us a potential to get one also.
I like the part in the link from Surrey about him being a proven top notch recruiter, that brings hope to fix our depth issues.

That's the ticket for me too.

Recruitment has been the area of failure for Carlton since the 2016 Draft, and all the drafts since 2004.

If Wright can find a few gems for 3rd & 4th Round pick or a DFA or two, that will go a long way to improving our depth with hopefully better skilled and quicker players that we have.

Displace our bottom 6 players with better ones, and add a few for depth in the VFL, and I will be stoked.

TDK can walk. No ruckman is work $1M, unless his name is Gawn.
