Personally, I’d get more from seeing Lemmey, Moir and Wilson play than rolling out guys we know.

Also, the 2s forward line would actually have some synergy.

Petty McMahon can't come in with them

Disappointing weekend but I like to see how our team responds to challenges. In past years, we didn't. Same with yesterday's game, once we were out of it, it was good to see who dropped their heads and who stood up. I'd suggest injury will save a couple of players from their spots being in jeopardy. But it shouldn't prevent a few being embarrassed by the replays. McGovern and Motlop firstly. Both failed the courage test on a couple of occasions. Not the first time for Mitch.

It's interesting. If you were to name 3 current Carlton players who you know would back into a pack knowing they were going to cop it, but still would do it, who would they be? For me, Cowan (This kid showed up a couple of our seasoned players yesterday by doing things they wouldn't), Kennedy (Never in doubt), Acres (perhaps too silly to recognise the danger) would be the first 3 I'd name. It's embarrassing that a kid in his second year is ahead of so many older players.

I'm looking forward to see how we structure up this week. Personally I'd play the captain up forward a lot more. I thought our midfield looked good the couple of times he wasn't there and his height/strength will be needed up forward if Charlie and Harry are out. Still give him stints in the middle but I'd give Matt Kennedy more responsibility there. He kicks the ball better, he's more mobile and he can rotate forward with Cripps.
Bring in the kid (Lord) and give him a run in the guts. Kennedy, Lord, Walsh starting combo with Cripps and Hewett rotating. I'd also bring Acres into the midfield rotation and put Binns on the wing. At least we know Acres will run defensively.

Young - Weitering - Wilson
Cowan - Kemp - Newman
Binns - Kennedy - O. Hollands
E.Hollands - McGovern - Williams
Owies - Cripps - Durdin
Pitto - Lord - Walsh

Acres - Cincotta -Hewett - Motlop
sub: Carroll

Out Boyd, Saad, Charlie, Harry, Martin

Pretty good BV . Could we squeeze Lemmey in there ? he has been a bit better in the Magoo's last couple of weeks . Nothing special but not bad . I got a gut feeling Lemmey is one of those that is more suited to the higher level . Nothing to back it up , just a get feeling . Your thoughts BV. ?

Drop McGovern and play Lemmey.

I’d play Moir instead of Durdin who didn’t add much to the vfl team last week.

Haven't been following the 2s but is Moir really that bad that he can't even get a run in this team ? So much for our improved recruiting.

Excited to see Lord. Sounds like our most promising magoo from what Youse have written on here.

He was earlier in the year but has put a few reasonable games together lately so could be under consideration at least. There will be structural considerations like which talks play so won't be 100% form. Eg he's got better form than Lemmey but Lemmey might be needed more this week

Was better last weekend but has that annoying trait that some call lacsidaisical but looks like laziness. Lots of work to do.

So, I guess that means that none of Lemmey, Moir nor Wilson will debut?

Or that is TBC and Cooper banged the door down. I guess if fantasia is fit ins could be Durdin, Raz, Young, Lord, Binns and who else of the listed guys?

Not too hot and maybe some rain. A decent rain might help keep the ball on the deck.

Loads of rain forecast on Saturday (up to 40mm) so it at least be a bit heavy and slippery, especially after the rugby Saturday night.

We were cooked physically and mentally early in the first last week when Fog, Martin and Boyd went down. Never could win after that. Charlie carrying an ankle for weeks . This week we go in with 23 fit players. Great to see Lord debut- what a fantastic story. We've got a lot of proud blokes who will be on the field. They won't want to waste a season. I'm getting on us at $2 50 for 1-39. Go Blues!

He's always late to the party.

A bit like some posters. Waits to read all the news from mainstream. Gathers the headlines of the week. Then fires posts as their own thoughts without reference.

What a coincidence.

The recent headlines King has at his disposal

Russell is leaving
17 on injured list
Carlton not recontracting perennially injured players: Marchbank, Cuningham, Martin...Gov on low salary.

We already know the problem. King is a bit late, and jumped off the wagon, and given his reasons for his failure and his bullish outlook on the Blues.

Why didnt he talk about our vulnerabilities after the draft last year, or during this year when we were continually cursed by injury?
I've always said... David King is elite at predicting what is going to happen. But only after it's happened.
