I don't want to be a debbie downer but they are on top for a reason and are playing tough scintillating football.

Our last 5 weeks have been exceptional but I think our current injury list will be the roadblock. The Pies back 6 are a formidable team and Charlie won't get many easy chances and he won't get much help with our injuries.

Man for man I think we will be off the pace come the end, but all we are looking for is a strong commitment to the cause.

Regards Cazzesman

Heard on the news J Daicos Quanor & Hill missed training with a virus.

I wonder if they've got niggles & are just being given the week off

Our defence has been really good all year
We can keep the Pies to a low score
Must tag both Daicos boys
Josh is underrated
Walsh is a massive out but Cerra and Cripps hopefully will be back
I reckon we play better with McKay not there

Even if Cripps doesn’t make it, and we are missing Walsh and Kennedy, our midfield group can beat there’s.

I don’t like the idea of tagging both Daicos boys. Maybe one if he’s getting plenty of it. If we are beating them playing our way of late, let them worry about us.

One Daicos may be loose and no consideration of defending. We should take advantage of that. Josh on a wing should have an opponent like he should.

I appreciate your opinion on Harry, but it’s a bit of a throw away line. Harry will be a huge out for us. He makes us better IMO. Who do you want in his place in the forward line?

Charlie will be double teamed. One opponent will be an AA, and the other may be an AA this year. Charlie isn’t invincible in that type of challenge. Harry would change that badly screwed contest to make Charlie’s game better, let alone ours

The way football is going it’s one key forward and midgets applying pressure
Elliott is a key player because he can play mid applied pressure but for his height is a great mark and kick

TRIVIA QUESTION:

Who can name the last time Carlton defeated the team on top of the ladder, when and who?

The answer will surprise.

Clue:
It was a bit of weird year...
Carlton were 17th when they pulled this off.
2 weeks later Hawthorn did exactly the same thing beating the top team from 17th.
And an eventual grand finalist lost Four and Drew another game all to teams outside the eight whilst they were on top of the ladder at the time!

Don’t just say it.

Prove it.

I would have thought the debate is 2 talla vs 3 talls in the forward line. I also believe if teams don’t have the luxury of at least 2 bonafide KPDs (talls), they are forced to play shorties.

I think you’re referring to a Richmond premiers prior to Lynch, but they got Lynch out of necessity coz the show couldnt last forever. They won a flag. Now that Lynch is out they have 19yo 2nd and 3rd talls. That’s not a trend. Pies traded in McStay. Cats need Cameron and Hawkins,
. I could go on.

Like I said, don’t just say it, prove it. I don’t think you’re right.

If you have 2 great talls you don’t dismiss that. Never.

So....

McGovern back into the forward line.

Works for me.

Completely agree.

Charlie is not invincible, and can’t take on the Pies backline alone where his strength is, in the air.

Marchbank to play.
Yeah no Cripps is doing the rounds. @#$%&!.

Didn't Hewett have a corked thigh last year that made him miss 3-4 weeks?
Whyyy do our injuries always drag on.

We wouldn’t have been 17th either. We nearly made a prelim that year

If so it looks like we might be writing this one off. Free swing and you never know, but probably accepting a lost and reset for the final 4 games with fresh, fit players returning

And the Winner is:

Well done.

Yes, Round 12 - we were 17th with only 3 wins and won by a solitary point.

Ironically, 2 weeks later then 17th place Hawthorn also beat then top of the ladder Adelaide.

The previous time we beat the top team was Rd. 15, 2012: 10th placed Carlton defeated top-of-ladder Collingwood by 23 points.

Very true

I will say that for me attitude is everything and the way we are now running and tackling in numbers makes a big difference. Our defence is very good. Pies should be favourites but they have been up for a while and I believe if we bring the effort we did against Port we are a real chance

with our injuries, all the effort in the world would not bridge that gap. pies will suffocate us, and win by 6 goals.
