Trying to be positive, and no disrespect to Williams but the reality is he hasn't done much for us since coming over, he has been injured a lot, so it is not like much has changed.

Also Walsh and Cotters are the 2 best runners at the club, so hopefully they will be able to get back to match fitness quickly.

I love JSOS in the team. I think he adds a lot.
And I'd happily have him in the backline - as I suggested last year when we were KPB deficient.
However, I don't think he's the right guy for a flank - not quick enough on the break and not sure about his disposal.
I thought Williams was excellent from that perspective when he popped back in the team just before the end of the season. We'll miss that.
However, JSOS playing a role in the middle may enable someone like Doch to spend more time back again than may have been planned.

I'd also be keen to see how Kemp goes in that sort of role. And would love to see someone like Cowan step up, or maybe Acres or someone else?

So injured we have

Williams - Season
Philp - Long term?
Walsh - Early Rounds
Boyd - Early Rounds
Fogarty - Early Rounds

Everyone else should be right for Rd One. Fingers crossed

Could be mistaken but I thought I read that Boyd was months away.
Also no timeline on Walsh. They better not rush him back.

I think Boyd is one of those that could be weeks or months depending upon healing. Tricky injury

Walsh looks great a training doing laps and light work. Said he has no paid and feels good. I bet he psuhes for Rd One but I agree with you and hope the club holds him back

Would love for both to come back ahead of schedule (without being rushed).

Club said Cottrell on track for Rd One and Boyd was anywhere between 6-12 weeks.
Fitness won't be an issue for Cottrell

Not only that but Nic Negrepontis was told by the club Cottrell should be ready for round 1.

So... ?
I am using Qtrs as a rough guide.
So Q1 would be inside Rounds 1 - 6.
There are 24 Rounds.

Walsh - Q1
Fogarty - Q1
Cottrell - Q1
Boyd - Q2
Philp - Q3
Williams - Season

What about Cuningham? I keep hearing he STILL isn't doing full training. Will he ever??

And Martin AGAIN has a calf niggle.

Think this is the most recent info provided by the club

Is there a quote online in regards to these claims? Keen to see. Not doubting, just didn't realise these statements were made.

Shows we were worst hit by injuries than any of the teams that made the 8 and the top 6 on this injury ladder all played finals.

Are they counting COVID outs or did WC really have that bad a year?

Geelong were hit pretty bad too.
But if you correlate that with games played average per player we are still too young to be able to cover injuries like Geelong can experience wise.

It’d be interesting to see the stats for the past 5 years. We’re probably top 3 (for most games missed) on the injury ladder over the period. #cantbejustbadluck

Important to remember it isn't just about injuries to your top 22.
Injuries to up and coming young players is bad also. Can impact their development personally and long term this has a flow on effect on the broader list development and management. Club would have been really excited to get another year into Boyd. Now, to some extent that has been derailed.
