Cripps will be tagged out of the game unless he has a strong block. Enter Kerridge.
BB may be panning that either Kerridge will help chop Greenwood out OR if he can't, that Kerridge will get the clearances instead. We need this selection and it is a good one. BB can't fill that role.

Thomas was supposedly BOG last week in the twos. He must be going to play a small forward role if he is for Silvagni. Confusing to me. I was hoping for Kerr or even Jones, who is slaughtering them in his new role as a follower. He must have taken three or four contested chest marks in the pack on his highlight reel from the match. Maybe a late change is on the cards.

I don't think we can win this but I can see why we picked one of the two at least.

Daisy was horribly out of form at the start of the season, but went back to the vfl and was close to BOG if not BOG. Im not a fan of his, similar to others, but if its in the teams best interest then I'm comfortable with the selections. We will see the youngsters in fullness of time and we still have a very young team. Im expecting a Blues win tomorrow and a deflated Eddie McGuire.

He may have been BOG at VFL level but he is still WOL (worst on list). Bolts needs to put him out to pasture and move on. We look desperate playing him I think.

If he plays enough games to trigger a new contract..... :fight: Bolts is getting a black eye.

Greenwood will go to Murphy

Thomas did get 40+ touches in the VFL last week. Whatever else you might think about him, the MC rewards best-afield efforts, and that's good for the list as a whole.

I would not be surprised if Cripps spent more time forward as Silvagni's replacement and Kerridge went into the middle.

Whoever wins in the midfield will win this game, must control the midfield.

Go Blues.

What do you mean by that?

You give the Blues no hope at all.

Mate, let me tell you, we have nothing to lose and we have picked up our physical game.

Players playing for spots.
NB's doing well.
SOJ and Fish back next week.
Cuningham, Boekhurst, Macreadie, Buckley, Kerr and even Jones are knocking the door down...

There's plenty to play for.

Cripps, Gibbs, E.Curnow, Kerridge, Graham are strong bodied players.
Thomas has a lot to prove to Carlton AND Collingwood.
Smedts got with the programme.
Backline line is cohesive, tall, strong and mobile.

If the tough mids hold their own and get it our to Murphy, PetSet, Smedts and Simmo we will cut them up, and the ball will be in our forward line not theirs.

Blues by 23 points to spoil their 125th party.
After all we ARE the guest of honour

Solid last year but not the breakout year pies fans were predicting. Is another inside mid and they're really strong that area, Collingwood don't have much at all on the outside and losing Varcoe will really hurt them.

Silvagni on Elliot would be a key matchup IMO.

Shit shit - hope we get flogged now!!

No you don't. You hate it when we get flogged. Or even lose by a little bit.

You are right - dont want to get beaten. Dont why i said that - should have asked why he was back!

Are you watching it?

I'm hoping that this might be a goodbye game for Daisy. Dropped to the 2s for a couple of weeks, last year of the contract, play a final game against the Pies in their 125th.

I thought that may be the case the whole of last year when he limped to his 200th or whatever the hell it was.....and guess what, he's still here :{

It's called a contract

I get the contract thing..... But..... Did the contract say that "even if you play like a hack, you'll still get a game? ".

He was clearly not getting picked because of his form last year.

I get that he was picked after a good VFL showing...and I don't mind the Kerridge pick, especially for a wet slog of a game, I get that too.... Just don't get why Daisy was getting games when he's shocking

Same. Just can't see the Pies letting this go.

Mind you I had the same feeling last week.

You're clearly not alone there considering the Pies are going in to the game as heavy favourites.

I'm definitely not a fan of Daisy but he forced his way back into the side. Cunningham and Polson had the opportunity to show their wares and they both fell short. Especially Polson who was very disappointing after returning to the VFL.
We can have a philosophy of playing youth but the onus is on them to demonstrate the appropriate level of VFL form.

The pressure is now on Daisy to retain his spot. I'm a bit sceptical about his motivation at the moment. No doubt he was desperate to not be running around in the VFL against his old club but the job isn't finished. Listening to Bolts, perhaps Daisy is succumbing to the pressure of his own expectations which is adversely impacting his form.
Whatever the case, we can't have players performing at half rat power. Especially experienced players. Listening to recent comments, I suspect surprisingly his issue is more between his ears than physically.

Like most games this year, this may well be decided by who takes their chances. If we continue to have games where we are kicking 2.9 early instead of 9.2, we'll fall short. We have controlled the play a lot this season but our inability to capitalise on our momentum has been the killer.
The Pies have been similar.
