The comments about being quiet during games resonates with me, as I can't remember the last time getting vocal watching a game. On the morning of the 1995 GF, I was prevented from going to the game, and I remember wondering had I missed my last chance to see them win a flag. At the time we were an old team, and apart from a young Camporeale, there didn't seem a lot of quality coming through. Elliott and the Legends stand had already become millstones.

But this time it does seem different. Bolton seems to be the right coach, there don't seem to be board troubles, and judging by the number of debutants, recruiting looks good.

At 52, I'm a youngster in this discussion, especially compared to Moshe, but I still get a tear in my eye remembering past glories.

Ooh, a little drive by.... Thwack.

I think we are recruiting well, have done the past two drafts, and if we nail a third draft this year we will have a good base to work from.

Right now there's a lot of hype about how young we are but it's not like we are blazing a trail. On average Gold Coast, Melbourne (who have both beaten us) and Brisbane have all fielded younger and more inexperienced sides than Carlton this year. There is still a long way to go.

We went a bit too far against Port - it was the most inexperienced side fielded by any team this year (66.05 games) with Brisbane two weeks before (66.18 games) the previous record.

That team averaged 107 games between them and even Collingwood's youngest team for a million years to win a premiership in 2010 averaged over 100 games of experience. The Bulldogs last year are the benchmark. 24.4 years and 82 games on average. Exceptional.

Woe is us!! Wow imagine if you guys supported St Kilda, Melbourne or Bulldogs before last year?? This hard patch we're going through has changed me as a supporter for the better. I'm not the arrogant Carlton supporter @#$%&! the rest we're Carlton of the 80's and 90's like probably 99% of the members on here that were around then.

We are on a slow and long journey it may bring the ultimate success it may just bring finals whatever it brings I'll still be still a member of my favourite sporting club and appreciate any success we have more then I would have! Yep I'll criticise the club when I don't agree on stuff but this poor us mentality is just a load of crap. 16 Flags!!
