Gotta say, from what I've seen so far, the crop of kids we've got coming through a the moment are the best the Club has had in years.

And when you say years, you'd be referring to to about 1976/78 - when we had, Buckley, Sheldon, Harmes, Marcou, McConnville, Francis, Young, Brown, Johnston who all went on to play in the 1979 Grand Final - 5 years before the Carlton hating media hijacked the term "Baby" and applied it to those pack of C#%£€ at Windy Hill.

Buckley, Shelton and Harmes still being 19 years old when they played in that 1979 Grand Final.

Ahh agro some fantastic names & memories there.

Just looking at the exhilaration after the siren yesterday, how excited was the 1st gamer Williamson?

This is also worth a bump.

If you don't want to read 5 pages of Post Match posts, let me summarise it all for you:

- Matthew Lloyd is to eat bags of dick
- Essendon** players can all eat bags of dick because they lost and they are drug cheats
- Our kids played well and we are all excited about them
- Our defence held up and will be solid for the next 10 years
- The umpires can eat whatever dicks are left over from the above 2 bags for paying too many free kicks to Essendon**, and not enough to Carlton for all those awesome tackles
- The commentators on Fox for being biased, and not showing the presser or the song in the rooms after the game.

Bring on the same pressure next week and it'll be another good game, win lose or draw.

GO BLUES

What just about everyone else said.

I was there, and found as many ways as I could to slam those drug-cheating scumbags without upsetting our precious enforcers with the word 'drugs'.

We thoroughly deserved that win. Anything else would have been a travesty.

Nice to see the HScum still managed to toss in a puff piece about Lord Jobe (who did f-all with his cheap possessions), not that analysis has ever been their forte. FFS. (I picked it up in a cafe, if you were wondering. No way would I buy that excrement or bite on their clickbait.)

Kudos to all, Murph probably BOG but special mention to Gibbs for doing a lot of largely unnoticed special things at crucial times - he is capable of more but he cops some undeserved flak. Rowe pantsed Daniher and the backline played smart and solid, as you especially need in crappy conditions. We refused to cough it up in the last and played direct wet weather football. Terrific gutbusting last by Ed and reading of the play by Docherty.

And well called, Sedat and MIL (only 3 points off).

Go Blues!

We'd update the thread title with this if there was room...

Really really enjoyed the win but why is the club making Kernahan front and centre here ... if the playing group needs "sticks" to deliver some motivational speech then this will become another false dawn ... I'm not suggesting the playing group needed the speech to win, but I wasn't there so perhaps they did ... i any event, I'd like to see the club stop this beatification of Kernahan ... champion footballer ... shithouse administrator

Something tells me he wasn't there to deliver a rousing speech about his administrative career...

So why wasn't Rhys-Jones similarly celebrated last week? My point is simply this, he presented the jumper to Williamson, great ... end it there ... the win should be celebrated amongst the playing group and the coaching staff ... not some magical beans handed over by Sticks

Great match... I was at the ground and saw a few good things... all covered here, especially the young ones. Importantly, the ones we have are mostly leaders....

But I digress.....

Had the opportunity to speak to some Cheat supporters about 'what went wrong'
Told them it went like this

'the Essendon* players just didn't want it enough... wanted it all to happen for them... After trying to cheat, you had 5 years of telling the players they're great blokes and nothing is their fault, then you paid them and the coach a squillion to take a year off and do nothing. You've created a culture of lazy spoilt brats who take responsibility for nothing..... Not ideal for footy. Getting rid of that culture will take longer than it took to sort out the drug mess'

Worked a charm... There was seriously just silence
